Cobain and Love’s paths crossed for the first time on 12, 1990, at the Satyricon nightclub in Portland, Oregon, where his band, Nirvana, played an early gig. Their friendship turned flirtatious, and they officially began dating in 1991.

Lyndsey Parker, the host of SiriusXM Volume West, described their instant attraction, saying, “Within five minutes of her walking into the dressing room, she was sitting on Kurt’s lap.”

In a true punk-rock fashion, the couple tied the knot on February 24, 1992, at Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. According to the New York Post, The bride, four months pregnant with their daughter Frances Bean, wore a white satin and lace dress previously belonging to Cobain’s muse, the tragic actress Frances Farmer.

Meanwhile, the groom ditched the traditional tuxedo and wore green and white flannel pajamas instead. Only eight guests, including his Nirvana bandmate Dave Grohl, attended the intimate wedding ceremony.

However, their union ended tragically two years later when Cobain, who, despite his success, struggled with mental illness and addiction, which ultimately led to his tragic death at the young age of 27.

According to reports, Cobain took a massive dose of heroin on April 5, 1994, and then used a 20-gauge shotgun to end his life. Three days later, his body was discovered in the greenhouse of his Seattle home. After an investigation into his death, the police ruled it a suicide.

In 2014, on the 20th anniversary of his death, a cold case detective reviewed Cobain’s case files but found no new evidence to suggest that Cobain’s death was anything other than a suicide. However, the detective did discover four rolls of undeveloped film from the scene of Cobain’s suicide.

Two years later, in 2016, the Seattle Police released photos of the shotgun that Cobain used to end his life. The pictures showed Ciesynski holding the gun at different angles, shedding new light on the tragic event that had rocked the music world.
