New Arrivals for Netflix April 2023
128April 2023 is yet another great month on Netflix. There’s a slew of new Netflix originals that every subscriber should put at the top of their watch lists this month. For starters, Netflix’s Beef starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong is already gaining steam as a hot contender in the upcoming Emmy season. The dark comedic thriller is juicy enough to keep viewers on the edge of their seats for an entire day, with both Yeun and Wong giving next-level performances. More Netflix originals in April 2023 that are bound to stir conversations include the fantasy family adventure Chupa and the special event Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always. Power Ranger fans are surely going to want to tune in as the Netflix film celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the franchise with a reunion of original cast members from 1993’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Moving on to returning additions to Netflix’s revolving streaming library, Sam Raimi’s classic Spider-Man trilogy and the original Bourne trilogy starring Matt Damon are now available to enjoy in April 2023. A collection of fan-favorite animated films like How to Train Your Dragon, Hotel Transylvania, Shrek Forever After, and the first Puss in Boots have just been added to the platform as well. Furthermore, the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul is also finally making its way onto Netflix this month. For those who’ve already caught up with the schemes of Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman, you can dive more into the Better Call Saul series finale here. Lastly, both the theatrical and extended miniseries versions of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight are coming back to Netflix towards the end of April 2023. The two versions each carry their own unique qualities and offer a different viewing experience.

Our Recs:
BEEF
What is already proving to be one of the streamer’s breakout hits of 2023, Beef provides a thrilling blend of dark comedy and drama unlike any other recent Netflix original. Created by Lee Sung Jin (Silicon Valley, Tuca & Bertie), the show starts off with a common case of road rage between two strangers. Instead of settling their conflict there and then in the parking lot, these two unlikely foes take their “beef” to unfathomable extremes, letting it consume their daily lives.
Steven Yeun and Ali Wong both give career-best performances in Beef, which are even further bolstered by a vibrant supporting cast made up of Joseph Lee, Young Mazino, David Choe, Patti Yasutake, and Ashley Park. If that hasn’t already got you sold, Lee Sung Jin, Steven Yeun, and series director Jake Schreier are all set to work together again on Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts. Beef is now streaming on Netflix!
Chupa
A new take on the Latin legend of the Chupacabra inspired by timeless films like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Netflix’s Chupa is the must-see Netflix family pick of April 2023. Directed by Mexican filmmaker Jonás Cuarón, the son of the famed Alfonso Cuarón, Chupa reimagines the titular Latin cryptid as furry mythical creatures who pack more charm than bite. When an unlikely boy by chance comes across a lost Chupacabra pup in 1996 San Javier, Mexico, he and his family embark on an adventure to reunite the little critter with its mother. Along the way, they must evade government forces who seek to exploit the animal’s magical abilities. Chupa stars Demián Bichir, Christian Slater, Evan Whitten, Ashley Ciarra, and Nicolas Verdugo. Chupa is now streaming on Netflix!
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always
The original cast from 1993’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers returns in an all-new event film made possible by Netflix and Hasbro. When the one and only villainous Rita Repulsa is revived in a new body, the old gang has no choice but to reunite and take care of business. David Yost, Walter Jones, Steve Cardenas, Karan Ashley, and Johnny Yong Bosch all return in their respective ranger roles and are joined by newcomer Charlie Kersh as Minh Kwan, the daughter of the original Yellow Ranger Trini Kwan.
Of course, no classic Power Ranger lineup would be complete without voice actors Richard Steven Horvitz as Alpha 5 and Barbara Goodson as Rita Repulsa herself. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always comes just in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the entire franchise, making it a special treat for both long-time and newer fans. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always premieres on Netflix April 19, 2023!

Leaving Netflix in April 2023
Netflix is unfortunately losing some fantastic picks in April 2023. So far in the month, the streamer has already had to say goodbye to all 7 seasons of New Girl. If you’ve ever been interested in checking out the British cult series The IT Crowd then now’s your time as the whole show is being removed in April 2023 too. Similarly, those excited for Evil Dead Rise will definitely want to binge all 3 seasons of Ash vs. Evil Dead before it leaves towards the end of the month. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is about to expire (for now) as well, which is timely considering that a new Netflix anime adaptation is in the works with all original stars from the film returning to voice their respective roles. There’s a few more titles to note, so check out the full list of everything leaving Netflix in April 2023 below.
