Tony Blackburn forced to pull out of BBC Radio 2 show as he suffers health issue

Tony Blackburn has been forced to pull out of his BBC Radio 2 show so that he can recover from a chest infection.

The presenter, 80, did not host his Radio 2 show as usual on Saturday morning (April 15), so presenter Johnnie Walker filled in for him.

The star has also had to postpone his upcoming Sounds of the '60s shows in Redhill and Swindon due to his ongoing illness.

Tony explained his absence to his Twitter followers, saying that he his doctor has ordered him to take some time off to "recover properly".

He wrote: "Hello folks. Just to let you all know, I've had a little recurrence of the chest infection I had a few weeks ago.
