Chelsea and Tottenham fans turn on own players as they put on embarrassing displays

Chelsea and Tottenham fans have started to turn on their sides – with both teams booed off after they both lost on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues' torrid campaign continued as Brighton embarrassed Frank Lampard's side at Stamford Bridge – despite the Seagulls going a goal down. While Bournemouth picked up a huge three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And with both teams looking for a new boss after recently sacking their manager – their latest performances proved too much for both sets of fans. Spurs and Chelsea players were greeted with a chorus of boos as their Premier League campaigns peter out with a whimper.

Chelsea had been looking for their first win under Lampard's second tenure – and after soaking up initial pressure from Brighton, Conor Gallagher had fired the blues ahead.

However, Brighton never lost hope, and Danny Welbeck, moments after being introduced to the game, found the net to fire the Seagulls level. It was one way traffic from then-on out, and it wasn't long until Brighton had their second – courtesy of a goal of the season contender from Julio Enciso.

Chelsea did show some of life later in the clash, but it was too little too late for Lampard's men, who could sleepwalk into a relegation scrap.

Over in north London, Spurs also took the lead – after their kick-off was delayed due to Bournemouth being stuck in traffic on the way to the stadium.

Bournemouth, who desperately needed the three points to avoid the drop, battled back into the game through Matias Vina. Dominic Solanke fired the Cherries ahead just after the hour mark – and Spurs sunk as they failed to impose themsleves on the clash.

Richarlison looked the only member of the Lilywhites who showed any threat, when the Brazilian was introduced off the bench. And he had the ball in the back of the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

It was Arnaut Danjuma who thought he had been Spurs' saving grace – when he found the net in the last minutes of the clash. However, Dango Ouattara secured a huge win the Cherries, when Bournemouth struck on the counter in the 95th minute.

Spurs' Champions League hopes are still alive, but after Saturday's results, the north London side can't afford to keep dropping points.
