“Holes” Is 20 – Here’s What The Cast Are Up To Now

Can you believe it’s been 20 years since the Holes was released?!

Since playing the warden, Sigourney’s been a very busy bee. Aside from starring in tons of films, she’s also got a bunch of credits in the audio world – she narrated Planet Earth, lent her voice to the videogame Alien: Isolation, and had a cameo in Finding Dory. We most recently saw Sigourney on the silver screen in Avatar: The Way of Water, and we’ll be seeing more of Kiri in the upcoming sequels, which she’s filming now.

Jon Voight as Mr. Sir

Jon seemed to make a bit of an exception by taking on the role of Mr Sir – Holes is one of the few family-friendly films in the Academy Award-winner’s repertoire. Since 2003, Jon’s been busy doing what he does best, racking up awards and nominations for his role of Mickey in the long-running crime series Ray Donovan. We can expect to see more of Jon Voight on our screens soon – he’s playing Viktor Novikov in the upcoming Reagan biopic and has a part in Francis Ford Coppola’s sci-fi epic, Megalopolis.

Shia LaBeouf as Stanley

The leading part was Shia’s breakout role, and he’s got some huge credits under his belt, going on to join huge franchises like Transformers and Indiana Jones. In 2020, Shia LaBeouf was accused of multiple accounts of abuse and was sued by his ex-girlfriend, FKA Twigs, after which he took a hiatus from acting to receive treatment. Shia’s also part of the ensemble cast of Megalopolis, and the trial for abuse is set to begin this month.

Khleo Thomas as Zero

Though Khleo received a Young Artist Award nomination for his fantastic portrayal of Zero, he’s a man of many talents and has gone on to gain a huge following as an influencer and entrepreneur, especially when it comes to gaming – if you’re on Twitch, you’ve probably come across his gameplay livestreams and watchalongs. He’s still acting and was most recently in Vivian Kerr’s 2022 film, Scrap

Tim Blake Nelson as Dr. Pendanski

Since Holes, Tim’s been in tons of films and TV shows – he played Wade in HBO’s Watchmen and starred as the titular character in Old Henry (where he was also executive producer), and he’ll also be in Dune: Part Two. A true multihyphenate, he’s also appeared in Leaves of Grass and Anesthesia; both of which he wrote and directed, and in 2019, his play Socrates debuted in The Public Theatre in New York.

Rick Fox as Clyde “Sweet Feet” Livingston

Rick left the LA Lakers a year after Holes came out, and his post-NBA career is going pretty well, to say the least. He’s still acting – he just had a guest role in the latest season of Harlem – but has also pivoted into the world of climate entrepreneurship with his company, Partanna Bahamas. Last year, they partnered with the Bahamian government to build 1000 hurricane-resistant homes, which will also be the world’s first carbon-negative housing community.

Patricia Arquette as Kissin’ Kate Barlow

Patricia was a multiple award winner before Holes, and she hasn’t stopped – she won an Academy Award for her performance in Boyhood back 2015, a Primetime Emmy playing DeeDee Blanchard in The Act, and is still racking up nominations in her current role as Harmony in Severance. Acting aside, Patricia has campaigned for wage equality and is on the board for the Creative Coalition; a non-profit advocacy group focused on tackling issues in the entertainment world, including public funding and arts education in schools.

Dulé Hill as Sam

There are a lot of places you’ll recognise Dulé from – he played Alex in Suits, and is currently in the remake of The Wonder Years, for which he received an NAACP Image Award nomination this year. He’s also collaborated with his wife, Jazymyn Simon, on a confidence-affirming children’s book, Repeat After Me: Big Things to Say Every Day, which is out next month.

It seems to be reboot season, so do you think it’s time Holes had a remake? Let us know in the comments!
