The Calgary Flames originally selected Jankowski in the first round (No. 21 overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft. After a successful four-year career at Providence College, the 6-foot-4 center signed with the Flames in 2016 and emerged as a full-time NHLer with the club in 2017–18.

Jankowski scored 25 points (including 17 goals) in 72 games with the Flames during his rookie season and followed it up with a career-high 32 points in 79 contests the following year. The Flames elected not to tender Jankowski a new contract after he fell to just seven points in 56 games in 2019–20.

Following brief stints with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres, Jankowski signed a one-year deal with the Predators as an unrestricted free agent last July. The Hamilton, Ont. product has spent most of the season in Nashville but has also recorded 10 points in nine AHL games with the Milwaukee Admirals.

Through 304 career games with the Flames, Penguins, Sabres and Predators during his NHL career, Jankowski has recorded 47 goals and 88 points. He’s also appeared in 10 playoff games (all with Calgary), although he has yet to find the scoresheet.

Jankowski logged 15:14 in the Predators’ 5-4 overtime win over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. The Predators will return to action on Tuesday to play host to the Detroit Red Wings at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
