Gary Neville warns Arsenal about Man City ‘steamroller’ ahead of Prem run-in

Gary Neville has warned Arsenal about a possible Man City 'steamroller' ahead of their Premier League title run-in.

Manchester City have found an extra spring in their step going into the latter stages of the season, and have gone unbeaten since February in all competitions. During their impressive run, Pep Guardiola's men have thumped Liverpool 4-1, and defeated Arsenal 3-1 in the Prem, whilst decimating RB Leipzig 7-0 in the Champions League.

And they also made light work of Bayern Munich in the European competition to set up a tantalising semi-final clash against Liverpool and Chelsea's conquerors Real Madrid. Meanwhile, league leaders Arsenal have been in stuttering form as of late, drawing their last two games with Liverpool and West Ham, having squandered two-goal leads in both matches.

City and Arsenal face each other next week in an epic title showdown, and Neville thinks the reigning Champions' experience under pressure could give them the edge over the Gunners in the title race.

The Manchester United legend gets the feeling that City's "powerhouses" have gained confidence from Arsenal's decline in form, and fancy themselves to close the four point gap between the two teams.

Neville explained: "They’re sort of a steamroller, they just keep on going, City. They’re such a powerhouse, they’ve been here before, experienced, I think they will be looking forward to that game that’s coming at the Etihad next week but the fact they’ve got a favour from Liverpool and West Ham maybe will give them far more confidence than they already have. I think City are just sure about themselves anyway."

Arsenal gave Neville's opinion extra oomph when they nearly crumbled against Southampton on Friday night. The Gunners' had to rely on late goals from Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka in the dying stages to salvage a 3-3 draw after going down 3-1 for the majority of the match that saw Aaron Ramsdale produce an epic blunder, along with a bizarre huddle orchestrated by Oleksandr Zinchenko after Southampton's first goal.
