The pair are undoubtedly one of Hollywood’s most iconic duos. They have been close friends for over 25 years since starred together in the wildly successful “Bad Boys” franchise. Smith showcased their solid brotherly bond when he celebrated his friend’s latest achievement as Lawrence received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In a new post to his Instagram page, the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” actor shared a picture of Lawrence looking dapper in a black suit and squatting by the star with his name on it.

The following slide was a snippet of the honoree’s speech which included an inspiring message, “If I can pass one thing on to those coming after me, it would be to board your dream bus with confidence, grace, and humility. And ride it till the wheels fall off.”

In the caption, Smith wrote, “Congrats Marty Mar!! @martinlawrence.” The post received copious amounts of love from fans who felt the honor was well deserved, like one person who wrote, “Marty Mar should have got this 20 years ago.”

Another user gushed, “Love to see it!!! He deserves it!!! His body of work is incredible. His television show was a classic, and his movie roles have been equally great! Glad to see him getting this recognition!”

Some followers who felt the honor took to look for him to receive wrote, “Long Overdue!!! ????????,” “Way overdue,” and “About ffccckn time but better late than never ??. So deserved!” Another congratulated him and described him as a “living legend.” 

Earlier in the week before the Walk of Fame ceremony, Smith could not contain his excitement for Lawrence’s 58th birthday and decided to honor him most sweetly. The “Parents Just Don’t Understand” rapper put together a heartwarming reel of their friends to celebrate the celebrant on his special day.

The compilation was filled with past moments between the duo and showed their enduring bond. The clip started with the pair joking around about the chilly weather, with Lawrence yelling a playful expletive. It then transitioned to Smith playfully chasing after the “Nothing To Lose” actor, reassuring him with a witty comment, “You’re not short; you’re pleasantly petite.”

The reel included more moments showing the longtime friends sharing many inside jokes and laugh-out-loud moments, including one where the “Emancipation” actor loudly sang, “Marty Mar lights up my life.”

He wrapped up the tribute by reiterating that they were “bad boys for life” before ending the video by humorously stating that he did not want to overload his followers with unforgettable moments.

The comedian gained fame in the 90s with roles in his original sitcom, “Martin,” “Bad Boys,” and as a host in HBO’s Def Comedy Jam. Apart from his sometimes tough and hilarious persona, he is a devoted father to his three girls, Jasmin Page, Iyanna Faith, and Amara Trinity.

Iyanna, Lawrence’s second daughter, graduated from high school in 2018 and is studying creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. The 22-year-old is passionate about activism and has a close relationship with her father’s fiancé, Moradfar.

His third child, Amara, graduated high school in 2021 and is an aspiring musician. The 20-year-old already has two original tracks on Soundcloud, “Long Time” and “To Myself,” and has the support of her entire family.
