At one point, she even shows her followers how to roll a joint with her legs spread around the narrow bench. In the caption, they wrote, “HAPPY 420. Starring our friend @irelandirelandireland. #420.”

“She looks like her mama,” one fan commented. “I’ve never been a smoker but I’ll try anything three times!” another follower joked. “Next year, can I smoke with you?” a third fan asked. “Wow, weed and lingerie… it’s almost like those beer commercials,” another follower pointed out.

“Why did she cut her hair Not into the Peter Pan look,” another follower asked, referring to Ireland’s short dark hair. “Because she wants to?” another follower asked. “I’m not positive, but I think someone dared her. I don’t know that for a fact, but I think it was the reason,” another fan chimed in.

In a September 2020 interview with Forbes, the popular model opened up on her history with cannabis and shared some advice for some people who had never tried marijuana before. Ireland said that her parents “weren’t smokers,” although she said, “I grew up in a very holistic, very hippie household.”

“My parents weren’t smokers or anything so much, but a lot of people I was influenced by and people I grew up with were very holistic and always used cannabis as a remedy for a lot of things,” she explained.

Eventually, she started experimenting with different substances. However, she recalled how she “had such a bad experience, the majority of my life, with edibles. I always associated [them] in my mind with… just the absolute worst.”

After trying different kinds of edibles, Ireland said that she changed her mind about them, adding, “I realized that edibles had the capability to make me feel the way they do, and aiding my anxiety and helping with so many different things.”

Ireland told her followers that the most important thing to do when trying cannabis for the first time is to ask questions. “I think that a lot of people are afraid to ask questions, are afraid to be vulnerable in that way, or learn something,” she explained. “Coming from someone who has tried everything, I think it’s really, really important for people to ask questions.”

She also explained how cannabis helps her manage her anxiety. “Even when I consumed a lot, thinking I could handle it, I never had an anxiety attack, which is huge for me, ‘cause I have an anxiety disorder,” she explained. “That’s part of the reason I partake in marijuana.”

“It has aided my anxiety so much. I can’t even tell you,” she went on. “Nothing makes me feel as relaxed and as in control, because I hate feeling out of control. Even when I’m drunk. I can’t even explain it to people, they just don’t get it.”

In addition to being a model and co-owner of the Good Times gluten-free restaurant in Gearhart, Oregon, Ireland is also an inspiring writer who claims that cannabis has helped open up a “different realm” of creativity for her.

“Cannabis has helped me so much in regards to creativity and opening up a different part of my mind and understanding,” she explained. “It just opens up a different realm of creativity sometimes.”

“That’s kind of also such a wonderful thing about cannabis… I feel like if you allow it to, it can really unlock a lot of insecurity inside of you,” she added. “You can dismiss that insecurity and unlock this creative person inside of you.”

Ireland also noted how the prejudice against cannabis is “dying down” as it becomes legal to consume in more and more states.

“I think the prejudice [against cannabis] is really old school, and that it’s sort of dying down a little bit,” she said. “I think people are definitely becoming more and more open to the possibilities of what cannabis can do for you.”
