Halyna Hutchins’ Family Will Not Let Alec Baldwin ‘Escape’ Prosecution!

The filming of “Rust” has restarted, barely a few days after criminal charges were dropped against Alec Baldwin over the accidental shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on set.

While the Baldwins are grateful, Halyna Hutchins’ family does not plan to give up on their search for justice, which means this tragic tale is far from over.

On Friday, New Mexico prosecutors dismissed the two counts of involuntary manslaughter filed against Baldwin in February 2023. The charges resulted from cinematographer Halyna Hutchins’ death after she was struck by a bullet from a revolver that Baldwin had been practicing his scenes with.

The charges’ dismissal indeed relieved Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, who posted a picture of them with her curled up in his lap like a child.

While some have claimed that the same case against him so presented by New Mexico’s DA was full of holes, Baldwin’s fans and well-wishers feel its great news for the family, as they dropped in comments like:

“Wonderful news for your family, and while we mourn that day’s losses – we can only move forward.”

“So happy for you both; you made it through a tough situation; so much love and respect you have for each other.”

“I cried when I heard the great news. So happy for you and your beautiful family.”

Here’s that beautiful and happy family, all together, on Easter!

‘Rust’ Director Joel Souza Promises To ‘Honor’ Halyna Hutchins

With production resuming amidst the eagle eyes of all, new crew members are now on set. As per Deadline, these include Safety Officers Gary Jensen and Paul Jordan (Tenet Production Safety), EP/LP Stephen Marinaccio (“Jack Ryan”), and Production Designer Christine Brandt (“Card Counter”).

Filmmaker Joel Souza, who was also injured in the incident that killed Hutchins, is also back and gave a statement claiming that he would ensure that to honor all Halyna Hutchins stood for.

We said Souza, “Though bittersweet, I am grateful that a brilliant and dedicated new production team is joining the former cast and crew to complete what Halyna and I started. My every effort on this film will be devoted to honoring Halyna’s legacy and making her proud. The beauty of Montana surpasses words, and the warm hospitality and kindness extended by everyone I’ve met been both humbling and inspiring. Working alongside such great partners is a privilege as we see this through on Halyna’s behalf.”

As per a settlement between Hutchin’s widower, Matthew, and Alec Baldwin, who he sued over his wife’s death, Matthew Hutchins has also joined the revived movie as an executive producer of the film. He will also produce a documentary about her as part of the same settlement between him and the producers of “Rust.”

Halyna Hutchins’ Family Continue To Seek Action Against Alec Baldwin

The matter may be settled between Matthew Hutchins and Baldwin and the state, but Hutchin’s family is far from appeased. There has been a statement from lawyer Gloria Allred representing Hutchins’ mother, Olga Solovey, father, Anatolii Androsovych, and sister, Svetlana Zemko (who all live in Ukraine).

Hutchins’ family plans to go ahead with a lawsuit against Baldwin and the other “Rust” producers, who they believe did not protect the set she was on.

In a statement, Allred said, “He can run to Montana and pretend that he is just an actor in a wild west movie but, in real life, he cannot escape from the fact that he had a major role in a tragedy which had real-life consequences for Halyna, her mother, father, sister, and co-worker.”

Hutchins’ family also claimed that they never even received an apology from Baldwin, who did not deny the same but tried to dismiss the lawsuit because he felt that the family “had been distanced from Halyna physically, financially, and emotionally for years before her death.”

There has been no further statement from Alec Baldwin or the producers of “Rust.”
