Jordana Brewster Signed Up For This, Not Them

The Fast & Furious franchise star is realizing that not everyone in her life is interested in being in the spotlight. While appearing on the Verywell Mind Podcast, Brewster spoke briefly about the two children she shares with her ex-husband, Andrew Form.

She quickly caught herself and revealed that she had vowed to stop talking about the people in her life, mainly her children, sons Rowan, 6, and Julian, 9. She usually speaks by relying on her “gut” to lead with what is acceptable, but she’s taking a new approach now.

“Recently, my kids are getting older; Julian’s 9, Rowan’s 6. And I find that because I like being brutally honest and veering towards humor, I often talk about them or post about them,” she shared with the host, Amy Morin, a licensed therapist.

Now she is singing a different tune. “But I think I won’t do that as much because it’s unfair. They’re not consenting to it. So I’m going to stop that,” she admits.

Jordana Brewster Posts Her Kids On Social Media

The actress has been posting her kids with their faces visible on Instagram for… years. But that will all be ending effective immediately. Brewster now consults her husband, Mason Morfit, when she isn’t sure about her decision and because he is another person who gets dragged into her media fodder.

“I check in with my husband because he’s also brutally honest, but he’s also now been dragged into the public because of me.” She continued, “So I checked in with him before this podcast, and I was like, ‘Hey, how do you feel about me talking about this?’ We go to couples therapy sometimes, and he’s like, ‘Yeah, that’s fine.’ But I have to ask whether or not someone consents to that.”

Brewster, who wed Morfit in September, loves that she can bounce ideas off of the businessman and that he isn’t afraid of her career and what comes with it.

Jordana Brewster Feels Guilty

The actress later admits that being a mom is one of the hardest things she has done; she always feels guilty. “I think the mom’s guilt is real. And I also think that society feeds into it, she says. “I think I gravitate towards people that also struggle with work-life balance, but I do think that there’s this sort of looking down upon like, ‘Oh, you’re choosing this instead of that.'”

She noted that she isn’t trying to put one thing over the other, but she doesn’t think it’s fitting that, as a woman, she has to choose work over family or vice versa. But Brewster shares that instead of complaining, she is grateful.

“And then also putting everything in perspective and being like, ‘Hey, it’s a luxury to be able to do what I do.”
