What’s An Unforgettable TV Scene That Lives Rent-Free In Your Head?

FYI — this post talks about a major spoiler from Succession Season 4. If you’re not up to date, avert your eyes!

Some TV shows are good, while others deliver scenes that are heartbreaking, hilarious, and simply unforgettable. In fact, I would go so far as to say they’re near-perfect because of the impact they have on people.

TV Land

For example, Sarah Snook has been blowing everyone away with her portrayal of Shiv Roy in the final season of Succession. The entire episode revolving around Logan’s death was a masterpiece of writing, but the scene that I’ll remember the most is watching Shiv’s trembling hands and hearing the panic in her voice as she attempted to say goodbye to her father.

Nickelodean

I could write an entire essay based on this one impactful scene — that’s how unforgettable it is. In it, Zuko’s entire character development and narrative arc reach its peak, as he combines firebending techniques with elements of airbending, earthbending and waterbending he’s learned through his travels with Aang to defeat his sister, Azula. It’s an eye-opening moment because the Zuko we see here is so different from the one we met in Season 1. He’s calm, his movements are precise, and he’s no longer controlled by his impulsiveness and destructive actions. That, set against the somber soundtrack as well as seeing Azula’s mental state deteriorate, truly makes this one of the best and most impactful things I have ever watched.

And while we’re talking about powerful scenes, I need to mention Schitt’s Creek. The scene that never fails to make me weep uncontrollably (I’m a sensitive gal, okay?) is when Patrick sings “The Best” by Tina Turner to David — and it is simply…the best.

Netflix

David’s facial expression changing in this scene is priceless. He goes from embarrassed to looking on at Patrick with loving adoration because deep down he knows he’s found the love of his life. It’s simply beautiful and lives in my head rent-free.

Now it’s your turn. What’s a heartbreaking, hilarious, simply unforgettable, or near-perfect TV scene that you’ve had the pleasure of watching? The best responses will be used in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community article.
