On April 22, the Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree officially tied the knot to the Houston Texans player in a memorable courthouse ceremony in Houston, Texas. Although pictures from the event showed the newlyweds looking blissful, haters found reasons to be unhappy.
Taking to Twitter, these insufferable individuals unleashed Pandora’s box by sharing how they felt Biles should have styled her hair for her wedding. Criticizing the Ohio native’s ponytail, a troll penned: “She gone wear this nappy ass ponytail till she dies damn.”
A fellow hater wrote: “She coulda at least got a lace front for her wedding like.” These individuals did not expect the heat they would receive for their unsolicited comments about the athlete’s hair, as they have since deleted their tweets.
Nonetheless, their vicious remarks had already awoken the hornets’ nest as fans rose to defend the Glamour Award winner. In a courageous message, a passionate Biles devotee called out trolls for blasting someone with record-breaking achievements.
“Simone Biles is one of THEE top gymnasts we’ve ever seen, has overcome situations of abuse and other obstacles in her childhood, has defined her success and found love and is now happily married…And you all worried about her hair…..?!” the social media user penned, shocked by the adverse reactions.
Touched by this person’s comment, the gymnast dropped her clap back to critics as a reply to her fan’s message. “I think they also forget I live in Houston, Texas & I sweat those out!! Soon as we stepped outside for pics,” the 26-year-old wrote. “But they can keep complaining idc idc idc.”
Following her response, more fans supported the media personality’s natural hairstyle while bashing haters for daring to insult their athletic queen. One person noted that only pitiful people would find something negative in the couple’s wedding pictures.
“I saw those pics of Simone Biles, and my first thought was, ‘Aww, she looks so happy.’ The fact you all zoomed in on her edges and hair is so miserable,” the Twitter user observed. A second person echoed similar sentiments while listing the Olympian’s achievements.
“Why are people talking shit about Simone Biles Owen’s edges, that are on her multimillionaire’s head, marrying her millionaire pro-NFL player husband, then returning to their mansion, where her 4 Olympic gold medals and 25 World Championship medals reside? Why,” the person wondered.
