Through Swiftie Research, This Is How I Believe Taylor Would Truly Rank Her Albums

NOTE: Just so you know this is not my album ranking, this is how I think Taylor Swift would rank her albums based on inside jokes and past interviews.

10. Taylor Swift (Debut)

Big Machine Records

HERE WE ARE, STILL BEGGING FOR SPEAK NOW (TAYLOR’S VERSION). We will be haunted until she releases it. She only put one song from Speak Now on the Eras Tour setlist — “Enchanted”! How sad, beautiful, and TRAGIC! I don’t blame her though, Speak Now has some really deep cut personal songs like “Dear John,” “Back To December,” and “Last Kiss.” TBH, she would probably rank it low because it was a really traumatic time for her when she was dating J*** M****.

7. Fearless (Taylor’s Version)

Republic Records

The fact that she rerecorded Fearless first says something. I think she rerecorded it to show she is not scared of Sc**ter or Big Machine Records. She is fearless now, and not scared of putting herself out there! I’m sure she is proud of this album, considering it has so many bops like “Love Story,” “You Belong With Me,” “Fearless,” “Fifteen,” and so on…..

6. Reputation

Big Machine Records

She was in her baddie era here. Don’t blame her for releasing an album like Reputation.  Going from 1989, a happy pop album, to Reputation, a dark pop album — just WOW. What a genre shift. Again, I’m sure she is proud of this album, but the reason it would not be in her top five is because it didn’t win a Grammy; I believe she’s still a little upset from that experience as we saw her reaction to that news in Miss Americana. But still, I cannot wait for Reputation (Taylor’s Version). Oh! Don’t get me started on the vault tracks, I am not ready for that experience!

5. Lover

Republic Records

I am amazed she opened with “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince”on the Eras Tour. It’s like a leftover from Lover Fest! But if I’m going to be honest, Lover didn’t really have the bests singles. While I still love “Me!” and “You Need To Calm Down,” but I like “Lover” and “The Man” better. I hope “Cruel Summer” becomes a single at some point! Fingers crossed!

4. 1989

Big Machine Records

I imagine she must be pleased with her first pop album. But it wasn’t exactly a great time for either, cause she was struggling with some more personal things. Perhaps her recent sightings in New York are hinted that the 1989 era is back?

3. Midnights

Republic Records

I mean, why wouldn’t she like her recent album? She revealed the album is a “collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.” It’s “13 sleepless nights. Including seven additional tracks (also known as 3 a.m. tracks).” Swift sure gives Midnights a lot of attention on the Eras Tour — OFC, she has to since it’s her newest album. I’m just praying she plays “Maroon” as a surprise song next!

2. Red (Taylor’s Version)

Republic Records

Taylor Swift said Red is a really special album for her, considering it’s her first album that contains elements of pop (not 1989 like most believe), and it also had a lot of hits. Also, now that it has a “Taylor’s Version,” it has even more hits like “All Too Well (10 Minute Version).” Taylor Swift released the 10 minute version mostly because fans wanted her to do it! She even made a short film for it, because she knew fans loved the song, and I’m just positive she’s always wanted create a short film that has Sadie Sink in it, and Dylan O’Brien. Taylor has a big heart and the rerelease of Red proved it!

1. Folklore

Republic Records

Folklore is a really special album to Taylor. Not just because she made it in quarantine, but also because it’s her first “indie/alternative” album. She really got to express herself in the album. To make the album more interesting to fans, she made a love triangle with characters named August, James, and Betty. Folklore Long Studios was also made that gave the already somber songs a softer, artistic feel. Unlike Lover, which was more upbeat and pop-like, this was a huge genre shift to moody, relaxing, and lyrical music. The fact she added seven songs from Folklore on the Eras Tour is beautiful. Folklore and Evermore never got a chance to be performed live before the release of Midnights, so now albums BOTH are getting their moment.
