The pair had known each other since childhood in 2003, reunited and began dating in 2013, and have been married since 2019. They share two children, daughters Kensli, 7, and Marli, 3.

In a repost from writer Cleo Wade, Kirsten shared an Instagram with the caption, “I hope one day, we all choose to grow up,” along with the excerpt from Maya’s book.

“But to grow up costs the earth, the earth. It means you take responsibility for the time you take up, for the space you occupy. It’s serious business. And you find out what it costs us to love and to lose, to dare and to fail. And maybe even more, to succeed.”

While the post doesn’t directly address the video of Chance dancing, it comes days after the controversy, so it’s easy to assume there’s a connection. However, based on the endless drama in American entertainment and politics — it could also be a response to anything.

Here’s to hoping this issue resolves itself and the social media discourse doesn’t put too much on Chance and Kirsten’s relationship.

According to a rep for Chance, the married couple’s relationship is doing great despite all the drama surrounding the video. “Everyone has their moments, but they’re all good.”

Even better news: Chance is set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his second mixtape Acid Rap, with an August 19th performance in Chicago — and “Juice” is finally available* for streaming.
