Model Ireland Baldwin just gave her followers the surprise of a lifetime when she tricked them into thinking that she gave birth.
The 27-year-old daughter of actor Alec Baldwin and actress Kim Basinger first announced that she was having her first child with RAC, whose real name is André Allen Anjos, on New Year’s Eve 2022.
Although she has decided to take her pregnancy private due to unwanted Internet advice, she tricked her followers into thinking that she had her baby with a video she shared over the weekend.

On Sunday night, the aspiring screenwriter took to Instagram to share a fourteen-second clip of her boyfriend, RAC, carrying a baby carrier up the walkway while a cover of the song “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri played in the background. As the camera spins around, fans can actually see Ireland’s dachshund puppy sitting in the seat instead of a baby.
“Stop my heart was racing so fast,” one fan commented. “I just got rickrolled by a wiener dog,” another follower wrote. “Oh my gosh, this got me!!!! I thought you had your baby!” a third fan chimed in. “I felt like something was a lil off with the ‘Twilight’ song but then again it DOES slap,” another follower shared, prompting Ireland to reply, “You know me.”
Famous Friends Of The Model Were Tricked Too!
Cousin Alaia Baldwin exclaimed, “YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO ME.” Singer and “How I Met Your Father” actress Hilary Duff commented, “Ok ya really got me you punk.” TV personality Hannah Berner admitted, “U got me.” Influencer Sarah Nicole Landry confessed, “The way I fell for this and commented congrats mama then realized and deleted my comment EMBARRASSED.”
Unfortunately, it seems that there were several celebrities that didn’t happen to pick up on the joke. Author, singer, actress, and multi-talent Paris Hilton commented, “Congratulations love!” Model and actress Lydia Hearst commented, “Congratulations!!!!!!” alongside several heart emojis.
Ireland Baldwin Is Taking Her Pregnancy Private Following Unwelcome Internet Advice
The first-time mom seemed eager to share the news that she was going to become a mom, informing listeners that she was expecting a daughter that she was planning to name Holland in a January 2023 interview with “GirlBoss Radio.”
However, she informed her followers that she is planning to take the rest of her pregnancy private and stop sharing updates after a piece of what might have been well-intentioned advice ruined her trip to the fair last month.
Ireland took to her Instagram Stories to share a screenshot of a comment left by a woman who claimed that she works “in labor and delivery at the University of Washington.” The woman claimed, “I think you may be a little puffy due to preeclampsia. I can see your face and hang slightly swollen as well. I just want to make sure you’re OK.”
“If you have a headache, blurry vision or floaters, or all of a sudden have an increase in swelling in your hands [and] feet and face, call your doctor.”
The message spilled over into a second comment, which read, “No judgment or anything. I just want to help make sure [you’re] okay. If all is good, I’m glad.”
Ireland then addressed the message in her Instagram Stories, writing, “Women, moms, [and] ‘nurses’ like this are the people who ruin sharing your pregnancy on social media or at all. I hate people who go out of their way to [instill] fear in others. I hate unlicensed and unqualified people who diagnose people of bullsh*t over the Internet.”
“I don’t care if you think this is someone who is trying to be helpful… it isn’t. My hands aren’t swollen. My body is… pregnant,” she continued. “My cheeks and my face have been puffy my whole life. My blood pressure is normal. My blood work is normal. I’m fine. But this brings up something I’d like to mention…”
“*This person also went out of their way to comment on my Instagram photo in a since [deleted] comment saying ‘check your blood pressure!!!!!!!’ On a photo of me enjoying my f*cking day at a fair.”
She later said that she rushed home to check her blood pressure “in a panic” because she was concerned that something might be wrong. However, her blood pressure was normal, which only led to more frustration and her decision to make her pregnancy private.
“Not that I feel obligated to/like I’m so important and this is some grand announcement, but I’ve decided to keep the remainder of my pregnancy as private as possible as well as my daughter/her life and all of the things,” she continued. “I shared tidbits here and there because I enjoyed connecting with people, feeling less alone at times, etc… but social media makes me miserable.”
