Jake Gyllenhaal Pulls A Real Life Chandler Bing ‘Saving Lives’ With…

If you thought that the scriptwriters of the hit TV sitcom “Friends” were pushing the envelope when they wove in a story of Monica getting stung by a jellyfish and Chandler finally having to pee on her to relieve the pain (because Joey could not “go” went someone was looking), you’d be wrong. Or so says Jake Gyllenhaal who has a similar “life-saving” moment to share, for real, as he laughed about it on the “Kelly Clarkson Show”.

Jake Gyllenhaal Was Once A ‘Normal’ Lifeguard

Gyllenhaal came onto the “Kelly Clarkson Show” to promote his latest movie, Guy Ritchie’s “The Covenant” and it seems the two really hit it off onscreen, prompting viewers to exclaim over their natural chemistry.

While Kelly Clarkson wore a black dress, Gyllenhaal seemed rather modestly dressed in a white sweater and blue jeans, with his trademark grin charming just about everyone. That said, not everyone seemed impressed with his clothes as one Instagram user commented, “I love him so much and he’s the nicest guy ever but who dressed him for this?! Both his jeans and his sweater are several sizes way too big and not flattering at all. He is so sexy and this outfit just killed it!”

On the show, Clarkson asked Gyllenhaal about the other “normal jobs” he had as they joked about being an actor or a musician, and the “Brokeback Mountain” star admitted that once, he was a lifeguard.

He also made it clear that it was not “like Baywatch, necessarily” because he was tasked with keeping people off a private beach.

But before we move to his saving a life story, let’s just hear Gyllenhaal belt out a few notes.

Jake Gyllenhaal Admits To “Saving Lives” With Pee!

Given Gyllenhaal’s propensity to take his acting very seriously, it’s natural that he took lifeguarding to its maximum extent as well, and also assisted with first aid. On a beach, this involves jellyfish stings as well.

So once, whilst Gyllenhaal was a fresh-faced lifeguard, someone got stung, and he was told that his pee would be needed, given that he is the one who needed to assist the person in pain.

As Gyllenhaal told Clarkson, “They told me that that was what you had to do, and a person was in pain. “I suggested that they — that we should — use pee and at that point, you know, the pain of a jellyfish sting. They wanted it. They would take anything, really.”

At this point, Clarkson also pointed out that when understood the urgency, given that she had been stung by a jellyfish. What she wanted to know was if Gyllenhaal peed in a cup and used that, or just peed on the jellyfish victim.

So Gyllenhaal manned up and confessed to a laughing Clarkson, “Well, I didn’t really pee on them. I sort of took some pee. It was their choice. You do what you need to sometimes to save a life.”

In case you want to have a peek into the pee conversation, here goes:

One Gyllenhaal fan from Australia had to pipe up, writing, “This is why we have vinegar stations at our beaches in Australia. No one has to pee on anyone or themselves ??. I absolutely loved this interview, the natural banter was great!”.

Gyllenhaal also spoke about his next role to Clarkson, in Guy Ritchie’s “The Covenant.” The film is about an unlikely friendship forged between Sergeant John Kinley (Gyllenhaal) who gets wounded during the war in Afghanistan and is aided by an Afghan interpreter named Ahmed (Dar Salim).

Said Gyllenhaal, “It’s a very simple story, but it’s a parable about two people just doing good despite themselves.” Earlier, in an interview with Insider, Gyllenhaal confessed that watching the movie made him pretty emotional, something that hasn’t happened to him before.

Said the “Spiderman” villain, “I will say this, though: I don’t think I’ve ever watched a movie that I’ve been in and it’s made me cry. This movie did when I saw it, which I was very surprised by.”
