Southern Charm’s Kathryn Dennis has lost what seemed like a never-ending battle for custody of her kids to Thomas Ravenel.

The reality TV star has been going back and forth with Ravenel for several years in court. She wanted custody of her children Kensington “Kensie” Calhoun Ravenel, 9, and St. Julien “Saint” Rembert Ravenel, 7.

Their dad confirmed to All About The Tea that he was awarded full custody of the kiddos. “I was awarded sole custody.” This means “I make all the parenting decisions.” As for their mama,

“Kathryn [Dennis] has the right to supervised visitation by an approved supervisor [approved by the court] between the hours of 9:00 am — 7:00 pm, every other weekend.”

Wow, rough. Ravenel laid out more details. “She’s not allowed to have overnights with the children. I will transport the children to the halfway point between Aiken and Charleston, where Kathryn will pick them up.”

Kathryn initially lost custody of her kids in 2016 after testing positive on a drug test. She attempted to regain control two years later, taking advantage of Ravenel’s then-nanny, Dawn Ledwell, who accused him of assault.

By 2019, Dennis had lost to Ravenel in court again when he maintained full legal custody, and Dennis was downgraded to scheduled visits and ordered to hire a full-time nanny for their children.

In 2020, Ravenel accused Dennis of abusing drugs again and being negligent around the kids. This was when Dennis was downgraded again to having supervised visits every other weekend.

This latest win in court was leading up to this. Ravenel can now make all the decisions about the kids without Dennis’ say. This includes “education, religious training, health care, extracurricular activities, and travel.”

Ravenel is happy to be done with all the custody drama. “I am beyond grateful for the outcome of this custody battle and for being granted sole custody of my children,” he said to the blog. “Family is the most important thing in my life, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that my kids have a happy and stable future.”

Ravenel acknowledged how complex the process has been. “This has been a challenging journey, but with the support of my loved ones and legal team, justice prevailed.”

Dennis has now commented on the tough decision made by the courts, but followers are aware that Dennis had issues with her kids being found wandering the streets. In one incident in 2020, her son Saint who was four then had to be brought home twice by strangers.

The first time he left the home, a neighbor brought him back. A few hours later, he was found again, and a bystander called the police. Now that Dennis has lost the kids in this long battle, she is on the hook to pay a court-ordered supervisor $35+ per hour to attend her supervised visits with Kensie and Saint.
