Actor Alec Baldwin is sharing a photo from the “Rust” set with one of his costars.

The 65-year-old actor is now filming at the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana. Production on the movie was paused in October 2021 after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot on set.

However, director Joel Souza, who was also hospitalized in the incident, has returned to finish up the film, along with Matthew Hutchins, the husband of Halyna Hutchins, who is now serving as an executive producer of the Western film as part of his wrongful death settlement.

Early Monday morning, Alec Baldwin took to Instagram to share a photo of him posing alongside his “Rust” costar, Easton Malcolm. Interestingly enough, the child star isn’t actually listed on the IMDb page for the movie, although Deadline did report that “Rust” was looking to hire a new actor in March.

The new “Rust” production was looking to cast a young boy who is described as hard of hearing. The character of Jacob Hollister is a supporting role, with the description calling him “a smart, sweet little boy who knows nothing of the world other than what his older brother Lucas has created for him. Lucas is all Jacob has in the world.”

“With Easton Malcolm. The next Brad Pitt. I kid you not,” Baldwin wrote in the caption, which gained plenty of support from his 2.5 million Instagram followers, even though some fans seemed confused that this was not one of Baldwin’s eight children.

“He could be the next Brad Pitt. He’s absolutely beautiful from head to toe,” one fan commented. “He’s adorable,” another follower wrote. “Always cheering you on Alec! We love you!” a third fan chimed in. “If you say so, we believed it,” another fan commented. “Glad you’re filming again! Blessings surround you all there and at home with your family!” another follower shared.

‘Supernatural’ Star Jensen Ackles Is Also Returning To ‘Rust’ Set

When people heard that Baldwin was filming with “the next Brad Pitt” on the “Rust” set, some people probably thought that the 65-year-old actor was filming scenes with “Supernatural” star Jensen Ackles, who is best known for his role as Dean Winchester in the hit CW series.

“The Boys” actor is just one of the many actors returning to complete the role, including Travis Fimmel and Frances Fisher. The “Dark Angel” actor previously commented on gun safety on the set of the Western film before the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins that took place on October 21, 2021.

In a video taken at a “Supernatural” convention in Denver in October 2021, the “Ten Inch Hero” star talked about the gun safety training he received on set. It is unclear if the armorer he mentions is Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who is still facing two charges of involuntary manslaughter.

Although the charges were dropped against Baldwin – without prejudice – so it’s possible that the charges can still be refiled, the case against Gutierrez-Reed was not dropped. That being said, the rookie armorer’s hearing has been pushed back to August as special prosecutors continue their investigation into Hutchins’ passing.

“I’ve got a 6 AM call tomorrow to have a big shoot-out,” Ackles told a live audience in October 2021, before the shooting took place. “They had me pick my gun… the armorer was like, ‘Do you have experience?’ and I was like, ‘a little.’”

The 44-year-old actor used his hands to show how he was demonstrated: “‘This is how you load it, check it’s safe. Do you want it hip-drawn or cross-drawn? I’ll just put some blanks in there and just fire a couple of rounds towards the hill.’”

“I walk out and she’s like, ‘Just make sure you pull the hammer all the way back and aim at your target,’” Ackles recalled. “And I was like, ‘All right, I got it.’”

What Is The Story Of ‘Rust’ About?

The Western film is both directed and written by Joel Souza. The synopsis for the movie reads: “A 13-year-old boy left to fend for himself and his younger brother following their parents’ deaths in 1880s Kansas goes on the run with his long-estranged grandfather after he’s sentenced to hang for the accidental killing of a local rancher.”

Alec Baldwin plays the grandfather, Harland Rust. Jensen Ackles plays the role of Marshal Wood Helm and “Vikings” star Travis Fimmel will play bounty hunter Fenton “Preacher” Lang. Both are determined to track down the outlaws and bring them to justice.

The grandson, Lucas, was to be played by “Boardwalk Empire” actor Brady Noon, but he no longer appears on the IMDb page either and might have been replaced by Easton Malcolm.

No release date has yet to be scheduled for the film, which is expected to wrap production later this month.
