‘I have tattoos of Princess Diana and the Queen – but I’m no fan of King Charles’

A fan of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana has honoured them the best way he knows how.

And that’s by getting incredibly impressive tattoos of the two of them on his chest.

Matt Cook, from Bedfordshire, works for the Royal Mail – and while he isn’t a royalist, he is “very patriotic” and loves his country.

He was moved by the deaths of both of the royal figures so felt compelled to pay his respects.

“The Queen was tattooed shortly after her passing. I wanted a chest piece and the timing was perfect. I admired her and what she did for the country, devoting her life like that,” he told the Daily Star.

“The other side of my chest was Diana, and I chose her rather than Charles because I remembered watching her funeral service, it was touching.”

He had the tattoo of the queen done on a Monday and Diana the following day.

“I'm used to the needle now, but it was very very sensitive around the nipple areas,” Matt shared.

“My family like them, and so do most people that see them. I get the odd comment from people that aren't a fan of the monarchy but even then they still admire the fantastic artwork by Renata.”

Matt also has a portrait of Winston Churchill on his left forearm, which was done by the same talented tattoo artist.

He chose to get this tattoo done when he was trying for a World War II tattoo theme.

Taking his tattoos into consideration, it may surprise some people that Matt doesn’t have any real plans for the Coronation.

“I will probably just celebrate the Coronation with family, it's something that doesn't come around very often,” he said.

“I'm not a Charles fan, however, I'm sure he would grow on me eventually, we'll have to wait and see.”

Matt was tattooed by Renata Ilciukaite who works at Fat Fugu in Northampton.
