“Jeopardy!” co-host and “Celebrity Jeopardy!” host Mayim Bialik will now have one less thing on her plate, as her “Call Me Kat” sitcom was canceled after three seasons.

The series put the “Blossom” child star in the starring role as Kat, a 39-year-old woman who opened a cat café in Louisville after leaving her job as a professor at the University of Louisville. Although the show featured three seasons and a variety of celebrity cameos, it appears the show has now come to an end.

On Monday night, “The Big Bang Theory” alum posted a photo of her posing with the “Call Me Kat” cast on Twitter. “It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday….We made a lot of people laugh during COVID in ways that at first seemed impossible,” she tweeted.

“But with this incredible cast – Cheyenne, Swoosie, Julian, and Kyla – and, of course, with the late Leslie Jordan, all things that seemed impossible became possible,” she continued before telling fans that they can “decide” the ending they want for themselves.

“Decide the ending you want, but for me, here’s where I think we all end up: Kat and Max live happily ever after, Randi and Carter get married and do the same, and Sheila is forever in everyone’s life bringing joy and wisdom. And Phil lives on forever,” she added, referring to the character portrayed by the late Leslie Jordan. “Thank you for being a part of our journey.”

On Friday, Fox announced that the show was axing the show after three seasons. “We are very proud of Call Me Kat. But, unfortunately, the audience response to it was not as strong as we had hoped,” they said in a statement. “We are thankful for our partnership with Warner Bros. Television, That’s Wonderful Productions, Sad Clown Productions, BBC Studios, Mayim Bialik, Jim Parsons, and the entire cast and crew for their work and dedication to Call Me Kat.”

Will ‘Blossom’ Finally Get A Reboot With ‘Call Me Kat’ Gone?

Starring in a sitcom takes up a lot of time, which is one of the reasons that a reboot of Mayim Bialik’s first sitcom, “Blossom,” seemed to have been delayed. Just last month, the actress revealed that the whole cast of the 90s sitcom was interested in doing a reboot.

Last month, Bialik told Variety that series creator Don Reo has completed a script for a new pilot and the whole cast is interested in making a return. “The show was supposed to be Catcher in the Rye about a girl, which was unusual,” Bialik said. “And we’d like to do a reboot that’s unusual. We’d like to do a single cam.”

She also added, “All of the cast is on board,” most likely referring to Joey Lawrence, Jenna Von Oy, and Michael Stoyanov, as the three stars made a guest appearance on “Call Me Kat” last year.

“My schedule has not been even open enough to think about it, but Don and I are finally ready to have more of a meaningful plan around it. And people ask me all the time about it,” Bialik told Variety. “You know, we were an unusual show about a girl at that time. There were no network shows about girls. Everyone was like, ‘No one will watch that.’ And here we are.”

Mayim Bialik and Don Reo have been working on a reboot as far back as 2021. At the time, she told Entertainment Weekly that they “do have a limited reboot that we would like to do.” However, they admitted that they’ve “had a lot of trouble getting our network on board.”

“I may just start a grassroots fan campaign to see if we can do it because we absolutely would love people to see where these characters are,” she added. “[Reo] and I talked about it and we kind of decided after literally years of trying to work on this that I would probably just say it out loud. We do have a well-formed idea and we would love someone to let us do it.”
