Mena Massoud From “Aladdin” Deleted His Twitter After Facing Backlash For A Tweet About “The Little Mermaid”
You know Mena Massoud — he played the title character in Disney’s 2019 live-action remake of Aladdin.
Which obviously did not go over well on social media.
Some fans felt that Mena was “bitter” because The Little Mermaid was on pace to outperform Aladdin.
sir you’re being bitter cuz the movie is doing way better than aladdin despite it not even being out yet…? https://t.co/GArEn2KPbF pic.twitter.com/tek2I0U7ej

They also brought up how The Little Mermaid generally seems to be, like, wayy more popular than Aladdin in response to his claim that people may not return to see it.
The OG Little Mermaid is like 3X more loved than OG Aladdin, I think that’ll play into the box office. https://t.co/nu00v6GAHE

It got really bad.
i loved aladdin and literally on top 5 of my most fave disney remakes. being pessimistic on a movie that hasn’t been out yet but praised by critics is just disappointing. im so disappointed in you https://t.co/Rrpx0ZIRRx

We watched Aladdin bc it was Covid and Will Smith was in it, we would’ve paid it dust otherwise. https://t.co/Q0j960lumP
