“GMA3” Replaced Former Co-Hosts Amy Robach And T.J. Holmes With These Anchors
After five months and a scandal that rocked morning television, the third hour of Good Morning America has finally settled on its new lineup of hosts.
The alleged romance was all the more surprising considering the co-hosts were married to other people. In 2010, Holmes married attorney Marilee Fiebig.
That same year, Robach also married actor Andrew Shue. Both couples reportedly split last year.
Nevertheless, it’s a new day over at GMA as ABC announced on Thursday the anchors permanently filling Robach and Holmes’s shoes, and they’re all familiar faces in the ABC News family.
Jennifer Ashton, ABC News and GMA’s chief medical correspondent, has been a contributor and co-host on GMA3 since 2020 when the third hour primarily focused on pandemic-related news.
She’ll be joined by DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim. Both are longtime ABC News employees. DeMarco Morgan has already been filling in these past several months as a GMA3 host, so his sticking around should come as no surprise.
Meanwhile, Pilgrim has served as a GMA weekend co-anchor since 2018.
These aren’t the only anchor changes happening at ABC News, as the network noted in a press release. Gio Benitez is taking over Pilgrim’s weekend GMA role, having previously serves as the network’s transportation correspondent since 2020.
“I know these programs — and our viewers at home — will be well-served by all of their collective talents,” ABC News president Kim Godwin said in a press release.
As for Robach and Holmes, the duo has largely remained out of the public eye in light of the alleged affair.
