This Morning host Phillip Schofield may soon find himself in the crosshairs of ITV bosses as they plot a “seismic” shake-up of the beloved show.

Insiders reveal that the days of Phil's reign on the ITV juggernaut, which he has commanded since 2002, may be numbered.

A source said: “This Morning is preparing for some seismic changes this summer — and Phil is lined up as the first major name for the chop when his contract expires this summer.

According to The Sun, the two co-presenters barely exchange a word off-camera.

While Phil faces an uncertain future, sources hint that show boss Martin Frizell's days at the helm may also be numbered.

Some insiders suggest he could be used as a scapegoat to protect higher-ranking executives from the network's wrath.

Critics believe Frizell's handling of the infamous "Queuegate" incident and the recent Holly and Phil feud has been nothing short of calamitous.

Many junior staff members have struggled with his outdated management style.

“The shake-up is going to be from the top down and no one, no matter their status, is bigger than the show,” added the source.

Since news of Holly and Phil's rift broke, fans of the daytime show have flooded social media, demanding change.

ITV has taken notice as well, with a near-200,000 drop in This Morning viewers compared to the previous week.

Our source adds, "This isn't the first time Holly and Phil's working relationship has hit a rough patch, but this time it feels more serious than ever.

"Their silence off-camera is a clear indication that their partnership is on the rocks. The response from This Morning viewers has been a wake-up call. While Holly remains incredibly popular, the same can't be said for Phil."
