EastEnders fans are begging for Ben Mitchell to reconcile with Lola Pearce, ahead of heartbreaking scenes that will see Lola die from cancer.

Lola was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year and after finding out her condition was terminal, she recently found out that she had weeks left to live.

Ben Mitchell and Lola's husband Jay Brown are both struggling to come to terms with her new prognosis, with spoilers revealing that Ben requests help from Dr Washington regarding a treatment plan in America.

However, at a party arranged for Lola by Jay, Denise and Kim, Ben's emotions get the better of him – with Kathy and Callum trying to help Ben accept the reality of the situation.

    Another begged: "Please EastEnders all I'm hoping is that Ben is able to say goodbye to Lola. I hope to god there's no fall out that doesn't get sorted. It certainly won't do Lola any good and Ben will be forever guilty of what he says."

    "I hope Lola will be able to get through to Ben and encourage him to get help that he so desperately needs," added a third.

    A fourth penned: "I feel so bad for Lola, Ben and Lexi in this situation."

    Fans were left in tears during Wednesday's episode (May 17, 2023) as Lola learnt that she had just weeks to live, with doctors informing her that her chemotherapy failed to delay the progression of her cancer.

    During the episode Lola asked Billy to assist her in ending her life when the time comes, with Billy initially refusing.

    However, he agreed to help Lola, with fans left in tears as they took to social media to comment on the episode and praise the acting from Lola and Billy stars Danielle Harold and Perry Fenwick.

    "Going to be a hard watch with Billy and Lola," said one viewer, while a second added on a fan forum: "The acting is superb from Lola and Lexi, even Billy has stepped up for this story."

    "Well done. Impactful storylines can still really hit home in soaps in a way they can't in other works," penned a third.

    Speaking about Lola star, another added: "She is showing how well she can act sadly for the last time. Will be sad to see her go."
