Daniel Levy is now on Britain’s rich list – but West Ham and Everton owners are wealthier

Tottenham Hotspur chief Daniel Levy is a new entrant on the Sunday Times rich list – but the north Londoners are still flagging behind the net worth of Everton and West Ham.

Levy, 61, made his millions through investment banking, starting out in private equity to fund ENIC International Limited, which he owns alongside business partner Joe Lewis. The lifelong Spurs fan then transformed ENIC into a sports, entertainment and media company, acquiring stakes in Tottenham, Rangers, AEK Athens, Slavia Prague, FC Basel and Italian lower league outfit Vicenza.

Due to UEFA regulations, these shares were sold when Levy took majority control of the north Londoners and the businessman set about revolutionising his boyhood side.

Taking Tottenham from White Hart Lane to a state-of-the-art £1.2bn arena, Levy has also overseen the club's return to Europe's most decorated competition, Spurs spending five of the last seven seasons in the Champions League.

On top of Tottenham's European prize purses, Levy's net worth has benefitted from an expanded fan base and a fresh NFL partnership and the Cambridge graduate now boasts a total capital of £500m.

But without business partner Lewis, who holds an eye-watering net worth of $6bn (£4.8bn), Spurs would command the second-lowest budget in the Premier League. Only Brentford's Matthew Benham has a net worth smaller than £500m.

Already enjoying a spot on the Sunday Times rich list from 2022, Everton owner Farhad Moshiri, amassing a net worth of £1.63bn, has slipped down seven places to 112th.

While West Ham United chief David Sullivan, who holds a net worth of £1.118bn, has risen four places up the rankings and now sits 159th.

Other notable mentions include Brighton and Hove Albion chairman Tony Bloom, who also possesses a net worth of £500m and is joint 286th with Daniel Levy. Meanwhile, David and Victoria Beckham have re-entered the rich list with a combined capital of £425m.
