Halle Bailey Opens Up About How Long Her ‘The Little Mermaid’ Process Was: ‘I Forgot About It’
Halle Bailey wears all white as she waves to fans on Thursday morning (May 18) in New York City.
The 23-year-old singer and actress arrived for her first stop of the day, at Good Morning America, to promote her new movie The Little Mermaid.
That same day, Halle switched into a denim look for an appearance on Tamron Hall, where she dished on the audition process for the live action Disney adaptation.

“It was a process, because after that first audition, I had like three other auditions, three other callbacks, and then a screen test that I did, and then like two months of not really hearing anything,” she explained. “So I just thought okay, I did my best, it went away, and I like completely forgot about it, to be honest. Then I received that call.”
“I think we were celebrating my sister’s birthday the day before [I got the call], so I had honestly like let it go, forgot about it and everything. So, I was surprised when they called me,” Halle shared.
