ABC has officially replaced their former “Good Morning America” hosts, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, fired due to a scandal. The duo was revealed to be involved in an affair that eventually ended both their marriages.

The network revealed the new employees, DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim, for the first time on Thursday. They will work with Dr. Jennifer Ashton, among other staff, during their time.

Before this, other journalists on the network rotated as anchors until they found suitable replacements. Robach and Holmes, on the other hand, are still together and have plans for the big screen.

‘GMA3’ Officially Replaces Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes

On May 11th, GMA3 revealed Morgan and Pilgrim as the show’s new hosts and official replacements for Robach and Holmes. The network shared a promotional photo for the co-anchors with the caption, “Allow us to re-introduce ourselves,” on their Instagram page. They added, “Join us in welcoming @evapilgrim and @demarcomorgan as co-anchors of #GMA3.”

The network also shared that Dr. Jennifer Ashton, who previously worked with Robach and Holmes, would join the new anchors as the “chief health and medical correspondent.” Morgan then re-shared the same photo to his IG page, announcing the unique position to his followers.

As a caption, he wrote, “GOOD MORNING AMERICA us ‘All it takes is one move from God. Just one!’ IT’S OFFICIAL!” While Pilgrim is taking her time before sharing the news with fans, Ashton excitedly shared that the network had announced new anchors for the “Number 1 rated daytime show.”

Other Journalists Rotated Before The New Anchors

Before the announcement, other ABC journalists like Phil Lipof and Gio Benitez took turns anchoring the show due to the vacancy. While Robach and Holmes previously worked together in the position, they said goodbye to the “GMA3” in December 2022.

The network dismissed them following escalations from their cheating scandal. At the time, the other employees received emails from Kim Godwin, the ABC president, calling the duo “a distraction.”

ABC also confirmed their exit in a public statement. It read, per Page Six, “After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News.” However, they thanked the ex-anchors for their time on the network. Despite the new replacement, Benitez will anchor the show’s weekend broadcasts.

The Scandal Ended Both Their Marriages

When news of the affair broke, Holmes filed for a divorce from his wife Marilee Fiebig, with whom he shares their 10-year-old daughter. This marks Holmes’ second divorce, as he previously split from Amy Ferson, with whom he shares two kids.

Robach, on the other hand, wanted to keep her marital status with Andrew Shue out of public ears. However, they agreed to split and remain friends to co-parent their kids. Their divorce was finalized in March 2023.

US Weekly wrote, “She is still in her stepchildren’s lives and trying to make it good with the kids and her ex.” The couple who wedded in 2010 are stepparents to their kids; Robach shares two daughters with her ex-husband, and Shue shares three sons with his ex-wife.

Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Are Pitching Ideas To Big Networks

Despite the ups and downs that followed their scandal, the former co-anchors are still romantically involved and enjoying each other’s company. There are recent photos of the duo displaying PDA as they take casual strolls.

Holmes and Robach also ran a Half Marathon together in New York and have been on several vacations. Amid the controversy and backlash from the public, the lovers reportedly plan to appear on screen again.

Several reports claim that the lovebirds have pitched their ideas to extensive networks like CBS and CNN, with their on and off-screen chemistry being their selling point.

Unfortunately, the pair have allegedly been turned down by the networks they approached and are still looking for a home for their show.
