Here’s What Actually Happened Behind The Scenes During That Shirtless Min Ho Scene In “XO, Kitty”
In case you missed it, there’s a new love story in town involving the Covey sisters from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before — and this one focuses on the matchmaker herself, Kitty.
NetflixThings don’t go exactly as planned though. Upon landing in Korea, Kitty finds out that Dae is already in a relationship with another student called Yuri (played by Gia Kim). Not only that, but due to an admin error, she now has to room with Dae and his friends — Q (played by Anthony Keyvan), an athlete with a heart of gold, and Min Ho (played by Sang Heon Lee), a cocky player who cares more about his skincare routine than he does Kitty.
NetflixNow, just in case you haven’t finished watching XO, Kitty yet (and if so, what are you doing?! It’s so good!), I won’t get into spoiler territory because there’s a lot that happens — including a huge plot twist involving Kitty.
NetflixBut even if you’ve only had time to watch the trailer, then you know that there was one scene in particular that had people screaming with excitement.
NetflixYes, that’s right — I’m talking about the moment when Kitty jumps into a shirtless Min Ho’s arms.
It’s a spicy moment — and if you’ve been watching, you’ll know the context behind it and what happens after.
So when I got the chance to interview the cast of XO, Kitty, I just knew that one of my questions had to be about what it was like filming this behind the scenes.
NetflixWas it awkward? Was it weird? I needed to know.
According to Anna, both she and Sang Heon couldn’t stop laughing thanks to one of the props making a hilarious sound.

You see, just prior to Kitty jumping into Min Ho’s arms, he holds a face mister to his face. During filming, the mister kept making a high-pitched ‘eeeeeeeee’ sound.

If you’ve never heard of a face mister, it’s basically like this tiny skincare device that sprays a mist of water. It’s meant to be very refreshing for your skin!
So, Sang Heon (as Min Ho) used the face mister, turned it off and then it would be silent — this is all according to the script, mind you. Except, during one of the takes, the mister wouldn’t stop making that high-pitched sound — and in a completely silent room filled with cast and crew, that is exactly what set Anna and Sang Heon off.
NetflixI imagine this would have eased any tension or awkwardness around filming this scene. Also, I love how the XO, Kitty cast seem just as close to one another IRL as their characters are in the show.
