Dark Duggar Family Secrets To Be Exposed In New Docuseries Featuring Jill Duggar

An explosive new series promises to unveil the Duggar family’s dark ties to a radical religious organization, and Jill Duggar is leading the witch hunt.

The second oldest daughter of the clan rose to fame alongside her siblings and parents on the TLC series, “19 Kids and Counting.” Unfortunately, the program was canceled following Josh Duggar’s child pornography scandal in 2015.

During its broadcast reign, the show followed the large brood’s lives, especially the strict teachings of modesty and faith enforced on the children. However, an upcoming docuseries claims there are dark secrets behind the moral display.

On May 18, Amazon Prime Video updated its YouTube page with the official trailer of their bombshell documentary series, “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets.” The two-minute clip captured interviews with former Bill Gothard’s religious group members.

Gothard is the founder and head of the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP) church, of which the Duggars are core members. Focused on the disgraced minister and his organization, the post’s caption explained that the show aimed to uncover the truth about the Duggars’ relationship with the extremist organization.

However, the docuseries noted that their limited program was not only about exposing the reality TV clan’s dark secrets. Instead, the show hoped to reveal how the religious community negatively impacted the lives of the Duggar family with its horrible teachings.

“As details of the family and their scandals unfold, we realize they’re part of an insidious, much larger threat already in motion, with democracy itself in peril,” the caption read, revealing that the upcoming series would premiere on June 2, 2023.

“World domination was the goal,” a man declared in the opening scene, followed by old clips of the family’s heads —Jim and Michelle Duggar — promoting IBLP contents at the church. “The IBLP teachings aren’t Christianity. They’re something entirely different,” a female speaker claimed.

After flashing to a clip of Gothard claiming to have the “answer” his members needed, viewers saw an emotional Jill fighting back the tears during her interview. Holding hands with her husband, Derick Dillard, the 32-year-old noted she was ready to share her truth.

“There’s a story that’s going to be told, and I would rather be the one telling it,” the TV personality declared. As more allegations about Gothard’s cult-like teachings flew throughout the clip, Jill added that her family had been a part of IBLP as early as she could remember.Former members claimed TLC had created a “PR show” for the minister’s beliefs, using the Duggars to spearhead the campaign. According to a male source, the ultra-conservative Christian organization founder “turned every father into a cult leader and every home into an island.”

Another speaker claimed, “The institute raises little predators,” curing the next scene, a news broadcaster’s announcement about the exposure of Josh Duggar’s “dark family secret.” Following that came more clips about the former TLC stars.

One of the documentary’s participants noted that the story was more significant than the TV personalities, as Gothard planned on using the children involved in IBLP to secure more powerful positions through politics.

“You give these kids training and political engagement, and from there, you send them to the halls of Congress, into the White House as interns,” the woman explained. “They’re playing the long game.”

Jinger Duggar Compared Her Family’s ‘Cult-Like Religion’ To Britney Spears’ Conservatorship

Jill was not the first Duggar to open up about the family’s strict religious practices, as her younger sister Jinger had been blowing the whistle for some time. Earlier in February, the 29-year-old opened up about her traumatic childhood in a candid interview.

The TV personality likened her strict upbringing to Britney Spears’ conservatorship, claiming she spent years submitting to tyrannical authority because of Gothard’s IBLP teachings. Like the Pop icon, fans supported the TLC alum with the Free Jinger movement.

Regarding the #FreeJinger hashtags, the mother-of-two noted that she was grateful to fans for spreading her narrative. “I’m not upset at the ‘Free Jinger’ movement. It was very kind of the people,” the entertainer stated. “I’m sure the people who started it had the best intentions in mind and probably still do today.”

Jinger, who left IBLP in 2017, explained that other ex-followers had realized the negative impacts of the minister’s teachings. Regarding Gothard, the “Growing Up Duggar’ co-author revealed the 88-year-old’s beliefs were based on “control.”

“He built his teachings on fear, manipulation, superstition, and control … so the way that I viewed God was that he’s waiting to spite me, to get me at any turn,” the 29-year-old confessed.
