Alana Thompson, better known as Honey Boo Boo, has come a long way since her days as a child reality TV star. After capturing viewers’ hearts worldwide, Thompson recently reached another milestone: graduating from high school.

Her mom Mama June Shannon, and sister, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, took to social media to share how proud they were of her and congratulated her on the feat.

About a month ago, the reality TV star was in the news for attending prom with her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, in a horse-drawn carriage.

Alana Thompson Is A High School Graduate

Thompson, 17, widely known as Honey Boo Boo, reached a significant milestone as she proudly announced her graduation from Wilkinson County High School in McIntyre, Georgia, on Saturday.

The young star, who rose to fame through reality television, has demonstrated her commitment to education and personal growth with her latest achievement, and her family couldn’t help but express their joy.

Thompson’s mom, Mama June Shannon, and her sister, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, took to their respective Instagram accounts to share clips of her in a yellow cap and gown receiving her high school diploma at the graduation ceremony.

“I’m so proud of her, she is our 2023 graduate, and yes, we were hollering the whole time WTG LANA,” Mama June, 43, wrote in the caption of her post, adding in the comments section, “AND YALL KNOW I SCREAMED WORK IT SMOOCHIE ONE LAST TIME.”

For her part, Lauryn, 23, wrote, “To say I’m proud would be an understatement. To be there a witness this next chapter, I’m amazed. Amazed at how much you’ve grown, how beautiful your soul is, & most importantly, how far you’ve come against all odds.” The proud sister continued, “To hear your name be called & to watch you walk; I’m honored truly. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter in your life holds. Please always know I’m your biggest fan & always & forever going to be screaming the loudest for you. I love you, Lana.”

Weeks before her high school graduation, the former “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star shared her disbelief about graduating from high school as she showed off her graduation regalia in a series of Instagram photos.

In some of the photos, Thompson posed in a bright pink cap and gown, while in other pictures, she wore a sweatshirt with jeans that read “senior” on one leg and “class of 2023” on the other.

“I have less than 30 days until I graduate. I am so proud of myself and how far I have [come],” she captioned the post. “There were points I didn’t even think I would make this far, but I made it.”Thompson first gained widespread recognition through the hit reality TV show “Toddlers & Tiaras.” Her infectious personality and catchy one-liners soon earned her her spin-off series, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

The “Screen Junkies” alum recently attended her high school prom, where she made an enchanting entrance that her peers will not soon forget. Accompanied by her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, 21, she arrived in a fairytale-like fashion, stepping out of a magnificent horse-drawn carriage.

The evening was nothing short of magical for Thompson as she embraced the classic prom tradition with her unique style. She was dressed in a stunning hot pink gown with elaborate beadings that exuded elegance as she posed for pictures with Carswell. Her boyfriend, equally dapper in a white polo shirt, jeans, and baseball cap, proudly accompanied her on this special occasion.

Alana Thompson And Her BF Were Involved In A ‘DUI’

Thompson was recently involved as a witness in a case that saw the arrest of her boyfriend after fleeing police and outstanding warrants in a three-mile car chase in Monroe County, Georgia.

The incident reportedly happened after an officer ran the tag on a Dodge charger in front of a gas station and confirmed that the vehicle’s owner had pending warrants to his credit.

The officer then attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle took off. According to People magazine, the car was disabled by a precision immobilization technique(PIT) the officer later employed.Carswell was arrested for DUI, fleeing, failing to maintain lanes, and following too closely. The pair previously faced criticism from fans on their age difference where she addressed it and said she didn’t care.
