Beyoncé Is GIVING It To Us During The Renaissance Tour So Far, Let’s Rank 13 Of Her Best Outfits

If you’ve checked your phone, opened social media, or even breathed within the last two weeks, you would know that we have in fact entered our Renaissance Tour era!

Being the professional that she is, Beyoncé hasn’t given us even a second to breathe since she kicked off the tour in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 10.

I mean, who needs air, am I right?! So, let’s rank some of Beyoncé’s greatest outfits from the tour so far! I’m sure that some of these outfits will change throughout the tour as all the kinks are worked out because we are what? PROFESSIONALS, honey:

13. The webbed and pearled body suit by Balmain

Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, who is a close friend of Bey and refers to her as his long-time muse, has a lineup of a few pieces for the tour, and each one of them is absolutely perfect. This black corset that’s intricately doused in webs and pearls and paired with those latex black boots is absolutely unreal.

12. The custom canotier hat from Ukrainian designer Ruslan Baginskiy

Beyoncé and her background dancers took to the stage to perform her hit “Formation” in this stunning metallic hat that perfectly complimented the disco theme yet still spoke to the most iconic look from the “Formation” video. The hats were all laser cut and then covered in the metallic finish by hand!

11. The bed moment from “Cozy” to “Alien Superstar”

Okay, I know this won’t really be considered a look  — she is absolutely just wearing the next entry on the countdown underneath this, but COME ON, YOUR FAVE COULD NEVEERRR. This isn’t just any old regular blanket, it’s a metallic bed — a disco bed even — in which the pillows are upright on their own, and as Bey gets “Cozy,” she brings us to outer space with “Alien Superstar.” Cue the shrieks. This is just iconic and deserves to be recognized for the moment that it is… genius!

10. The metallic cut-out body suit by Courrèges

This is the outfit that REALLY starts the tour. Once Beyoncé changes out of her floor-length Valentino gown (or McQueen bodysuit, depending on which show you watched), she changes into this outfit to really start the show. Between her and the background dancers, the aesthetic is too good. Starting the show this way is so fitting — a stunning metallic bodysuit accompanied by that stark black glove that gives her the freedom to show everyone why she’s the world’s greatest performer.

9. The modern-day Studio 54 look by Loewe

This disco look by Loewe is absolutely gorgeous. Loewe had a hand in designing a few of the pieces for the tour, and each one is as breathtaking as the next. The creative director, Jonathan Anderson, wanted to play with sculptural forms, trompe l’oeil (an artistic term for the realistic optical illusion of 3D objects on 2D surfaces), and body illusion for her outfits on the tour. This outfit literally makes me wish I was dancing with RuPaul at Studio 54; it’s just too good and the perfect embodiment of disco.

8. The disco ball outfit by Balmain

As we know, Balmain has a few pieces on stage for the tour, but this one is definitely my favorite. What Balmain describes as a “custom mirrored mini dress” is nothing short of eye-catching. Each mirror is reflecting the light and casting a stunning glow every time she catches it. This look is IT.

7. The closing cape by Coperni

Inspired by a look in Coperni’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection, this custom look was made from silver laser-cut feathers and included hundreds of hours of hand stitch work. Beyoncé closed her show by ascending into the sky on a huge metallic horse with this beautiful Coperni cape and bodysuit that is absolutely fit for the queen.

6. The custom “Queen Bee” outfit from Casey Cadwallader at Mugler.

The cohesiveness between Beyoncé and her background dancers is always so spot-on. This custom iridescent David Koma mini dress was a MOMENT in the bootleg YouTube videos I’ve been watching of the tour. The bodysuit was accompanied by a custom long biker jacket, knee-high boots, and a detachable sarong that told me I needed to try and beg David Koma to loan it to me for a Miami trip.

4. The custom beaded bodysuit by Alexander McQueen

Another notable name to add to this lineup of phenomenal Renaissance tour outfit designers, this bodysuit is described as having “silver bugle bead and crystal anatomical embroidery.” This was actually the opening outfit for the start of the tour, but it was soon swapped for the Valentino gown. Regardless, McQueen ATE this look, especially for an opening segment that consists of ballads before the first costume change.

3. The surrealist hands motif redesign by Loewe

This design was originally seen in Loewe’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection; it was then reimagined especially for this tour. While the original look was in gown form and still included the same surrealist hand motif, they took the look, turned it into a bodysuit, and redid the color palette with chrome, silver, black, red, gold, white, and grey! Loewe’s described their looks for the tour as “blends of futuristic concepts with theatrical and disco-era aesthetics.”

2. The onstage dress change by Anrealage

When the videos of the tour started to roll out, I couldn’t believe I was seeing Beyoncé perform onstage with literal Tony Stark equipment. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that she would come up with something like this. The outfit is really just a white robe, but when exposed to UV light, it turns into a replication of the most gorgeous stained glass. Whatever you may think of the actual look, the concept is absolutely WILD. This woman actually stood there while that dress changed on her body and then proceeded to perform like none of it even happened… unreal.

1. The custom silver gown by Valentino

Finally, we have the opening dress of all opening dresses. All of Bey’s outfits are accompanied by custom Tiffany and Co. jewelry, and the pieces combined with this look are like the pinnacle of old Hollywood. The kids are just NOT doing it like this anymore, and it is so refreshing to see someone come on stage in something so ethereal and luxurious that you can’t help but applaud her. A shimmering dream in this silver dress with a high slit accompanied by those gorgeous gloves that could literally double as sleeves UGH, it’s all just so disgustingly elegant.

Now, everyone say thank you to Beyoncé and her incredible stylist, Shiona Turini, for absolutely blessing us and working with these phenomenal designers to create this incredible art and style for our bee queen.

See y’all at the disco ?
