10 Stars Who Swore Up And Down They Didn’t Get Cosmetic Work Done — Then Revealed The Truth

Plastic surgery and procedures have become pretty commonplace in Hollywood, with plenty of celebs being totally upfront about the work they’ve had done.

But in 2022, Bella admitted that she’d had a nose job when she was just 14 years old.

She told Vogue that she now regrets it, saying, “I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors.” She said that part of the reason for the procedure was that she felt like she didn’t measure up to her older sister Gigi. “I was the uglier sister. I was the brunette. I wasn’t as cool as Gigi, not as outgoing,” she told the outlet. “That’s really what people said about me. And unfortunately, when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it.”

After the Vogue interview was published, social media users called out Bella’s parents for letting the surgery go ahead at such a young age. “Getting plastic surgery at 14 years old when you haven’t even grown into your features is sad as hell,” one person wrote.

In 2006, the “Pieces of Me” singer appeared on the cover of Marie Claire, claiming that we should all love our bodies as they are. “Everyone is made differently, and that’s what makes us beautiful and unique,” she said in the accompanying interview. “I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident.”

But then she got a secret nose job.

At almost the exact same time the issue hit newsstands, Ashlee was spotted with what looked like a very different-shaped nose. The magazine’s editor said they received over a thousand pieces of hate mail because of the star’s hypocrisy and the magazine’s “cluelessness.”

Her father eventually spilled the beans to US Weekly, saying that Ashlee had “a real problem with her breathing and that was cured.”

3. Sarah Jessica Parker swore that she wasn’t responsible for her missing mole.

But she relented two years later.

SJP eventually admitted that she’d had it removed by her plastic surgeon brother-in-law: “I didn’t object to it. I just didn’t care for it.”

She added that she regretted the decision after a fan told her that the mole was her “signature.” “For about the next 15 minutes, I couldn’t hear anything because I thought I’d make a terrible mistake. Can they put it back on?” she told David Letterman.

4. Kylie Jenner built a brand around her big lips and swore she hadn’t got filler.

The reality star repeatedly denied getting lip filler, insisting that she simply overlined her lips — while also promoting her best-selling Lip Kits. In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote, “These plastic surgery rumors hurt my feelings to be honest and are kinda insulting.”

But less than a year later, she came clean.

On an episode of KUWTK, Kylie — then still a teen — admitted to having injections, but no one was shocked. “Kylie Jenner announcing that she has lip fillers is like me announcing that this water I’m drinking is wet,” one person wrote on social media.

The following year, she explained her reasoning to Complex. “I wasn’t even 17 yet,” she said. “What if I came out and said, ‘Oh, yeah, I got my lips done’? What are all those moms going to think about me? I wish I had just been honest and upfront.”

In her 2018 memoir, Perfect Is Boring, Tyra revealed she had a nose job early in her career. She told People“I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching. I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery. I admit it!”

6. Lady Gaga was proud of the fact that she didn’t get surgery, comparing herself to the other pop girlies who did.

Lady Gaga told Harper’s Bazaar in 2011 that she wasn’t a fan of surgical procedures. “I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have,” she said. “I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification,” she added, in reference to the prosthetics she wore in her video for “Born This Way.”

Later, though, Gaga admitted that she’d once been addicted to facial fillers.

In 2012, she told Howard Stern that she used to get a lot of fillers. “I’ve never had any work-work done, but I went through a phase when I was smoking pot when I was really obsessed with getting facial injections.” She added: “Before I shot the ‘Applause’ video, [a photographer friend] was like, ‘Gaga, I love you, but if you don’t stop injecting shit in your face, I’m going to just kill you.'”

7. Rose McGowan said that her changing facial features were due to a car accident.

Charmed star Rose McGowan made headlines in the ’00s after photos of her sparked speculation that she had undergone a drastic procedure on her face. The actress told reporters that she’d been in a serious car crash and needed reconstructive surgery.

Later, Rose revealed that her publicist had told her to say that.

In her 2018 book Brave, Rose revealed the truth. In reality, she’d had surgery to fix a sinus problem, but the surgeon had accidentally punctured the skin below her right eye. She needed reconstructive surgery, which led to both eyes looking slightly pinched.

“I told my publicists what happened, and they said to say it was a car accident,” Rose wrote. “Looking back, I don’t know why it mattered, but I took that advice. And so, when I was asked by the press, that became the party line.”

The next day, she got a bit more specific.

“I should probably say, don’t mess with your boobs,” Beckham wrote in a letter addressed to her younger self for British Vogue. “All those years I denied it — stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you’ve got.”
