The Kardashians has finally returned to our screens with its third season — and right off the bat, it’s full of drama.

More recently, Kourt has been open about how she “wasn’t in the happiest place” when she was constantly fighting with her sisters while shooting KUWTK.

“Shooting our show, it became a really toxic environment at the end for me,” she told Bustle last March. “I would fight with my sisters. There was, like, just a lot going on. And even for me personally, I wasn’t in the happiest place.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kourtney noted that getting caught up in filming the show made her and her sisters forget that they “actually love each other.”

In the premiere episode, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian sit down for a conversation about Khloé’s precancerous melanoma tumor, which she’s had removed from her face since the footage was filmed. Earlier on, we see Khloé’s best friend, Malika Haqq, breaking down in tears as she expresses her fear over the tumor.

When Kourtney later asks Khloé how she’s coping, Khloé says, “It’s scary waiting for results and all that,” before hastily adding, “I don’t like to be an extra burden. We all have our own stuff going on.”

This prompts Kourt to say in a confessional, “Khloé definitely keeps her problems to herself.”

“I think, probably, she doesn’t feel comfortable being vulnerable with everything that she’s been through,” she adds.

Kourtney then tells Khloé that she feels their family members aren’t good at supporting one another “on a deeper level.”

“I was thinking about how, in our family, we’re so good at celebrating and having fun. We’re also good at lifting each other up when we’re in a crisis … but almost in a superficial way,” she says.

“I don’t think we know how to be there for each other on a deeper level,” she adds.

Khloé’s jaw drops as soon as Kourtney says this. “What?!” she questions. Kourtney asks, “Do you?” to which Khloé says, “I think I do.”

“When there’s something pretty traumatic or devastating in the family, I feel like we’re all by that person’s side,” Khloé adds in a confessional. “That’s my experience, and if Kourt doesn’t feel that way, then I feel badly for her.”

She adds, “I could easily say, ‘Yeah, like how you didn’t check in on me about the baby or whatever.’” For context, Khloé was left distraught last year after discovering that her now-ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson had secretly had a child with another woman outside of their relationship — all while they were preparing to welcome their second child via surrogate.

“We also, I think, vibed a lot on making fun of Kim,” Kourt says of herself and Khloé in a confessional. “And then I think when that was gone, Kim and Khloé were vibing. And then I was the one who got ganged up on.”

In response, a producer off camera tells Kourt, “People are saying that Kim and Khloé are the new Kourtney and Khloé.”

“You and I aren’t doing one-on-one activities. You’re always with [Travis Barker] or your kids, which I get. I would be too,” she says.

You can watch the latest episode of The Kardashians on Hulu now or on Disney+ internationally. The next episode will be available to watch June 1.
