Rita Ora and Taika Waititi have taken their relationship to a new level, according to new reports.

The couple who has been linked for a little over a year has gotten engaged and looking to walk down the aisle in summer to seal their love.

According to The Sun, Ora and Waititi recently got engaged and are already planning for a low-key, intimate ceremony to make things official, after which they would have an elaborate wedding.

It’s unsure the exact timeline of the lovebirds’ engagement, but a source close to the couple told the publication, “They didn’t do a whole, ‘Will you marry me?’ thing and an Instagram post. There’s no ring or big build-up. They just got closer and closer and eventually said to each other almost simultaneously, ‘I want to marry you.'”

The insider added, “It’s actually really romantic and just exactly the way they are together.” As for their decision to have a small ceremony, the insider noted that the couple doesn’t want anything dramatic and lavish for now.

“This isn’t about them doing a big showy thing and crowing about it beforehand. It’s just about them being in love and deciding the time is right to formalise their relationship.”

The source noted, “They couldn’t be happier.” The “Let Me Love You” singer is reportedly away working on several movie projects and “The Voice Australia.” Waititi, on the other hand, is working on the new addition to the “Star Wars” sequel.

Once their work commitments are over, Ora and Waititi are planning to get married in a nuptial ceremony that they want to hold abroad. The pair want to have their first wedding surrounded by only family and close friends and then they would have a big ceremony.

“And then there will be a big celebration in London at a later stage, when they get the chance, with all their famous friends there,” the source mentioned. “But for now it’s about getting down the aisle and making things official.”

The Lovebirds Have Been Together For Almost Two Years

Of course, Waititi and Ora’s wedding ceremony isn’t all planned as there remain some things to iron out but the insider promises that their nuptials would be “beautifully intimate and perfectly them.”

Neither Waititi nor Ora has publicly confirmed or denied the news of an engagement, but it is expected as the duo is known for keeping their romance on the low.

They rarely post on social media, but on special occasions, they never fail to show each other love. Such was the case on Valentine’s Day 2022 when the “Thor: Ragnarok” director gave a sweet shoutout to his woman.

Alongside a playful casual photo of them hanging out, Waititi took fans down memory lane, writing, “First photo the night we met four years ago. We’ve been mates ever since. Then a year ago we decided to “complicate” things but it just got easier. Happy Valentines Day to my bestie @ritaora ❤️❤️❤️??.”

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress uploaded the same heartwarming throwback photo alongside a caption that read, “Us. 4 years ago. To now. thanks for being cool. And entertaining me forevs..Happy Valentine’s Day bestie ❤️.”

It’s unknown when Waititi and Ora first became romantic with each other but in May 2021 they were spotted getting super cozy during a vacation.

As The Blast reported, the pair were pretty touchy-feely with one another while enjoying a breakfast date in Australia. The 46-year-old New Zealand native was seen affectionately holding Ora’s hands.

Waititi has been previously married to producer Chelsea Winstanley and they welcomed two daughters, Te Hinekāhu and Matewa Kiritapu, before going their separate ways in 2018 after seven years of marriage.

On the other hand, Ora has had an extensive dating history, including singer Bruno Mars, socialite Rob Kardashian, Calvin Harris, Andrew Garfield, and A$AP Rocky. She was even rumored to date model Cara Delevingne at some point.
