Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell recently spoke to the Daily Mail about their 15 years of marriage. They talked to the publication at the Vanderpump Dog Gala and said their trick for being together so long was keeping the situation “light.”

Romijn and O’Connell also joked that their teenage kids are the reason they haven’t split up. The fun-loving couple married in 2007 and have 14-year-old twin girls, Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose.

O’Connell said, “Have teenage children, and then they become a problem,” and to this, Romijn said, “So, you sneak out together!”

“You also become too afraid to split up because one of us might get full custody, and we’re frightened of that, so we try to stay together,” O’Connell joked.

The Secret To Their Lasting Marriage

During the interview, Romjin shared that she and O’Connell have honed the ability to find humor in everything. She said, “I guess we just keep on laughing. Keep it light. You have to lighten up about everything. You have to be able to move on quickly.”

O’Connell also revealed that his hack is to avoid conflict. He stated, “If there’s an argument brewing, I try not to engage. I try to distance myself.” When his wife countered by saying that he’s “not very good at that,” O’Connell replied, “I’m very good at that! I disengage!”

The actor and co-host of “The Talk” further explained that he always leaves the house once an issue breeds. He said, “I ran out! If I think a fight is happening, I run! My wife is also a Scorpio. It’s a different situation.”

The Couple Are Very Open About Their Love
