Olivia Rodrigo may be about to leave her debut album in the rearview mirror!

MEGA

Rodrigo, now 20, took pop music by storm after her first single, “Driver’s License,” became a viral hit on TikTok, and she channeled the brash pop/rock influences of Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpsons, who came before her into her debut LP “Sour.”

Two years after the record’s release, Rodrigo seems ready to move forward from the dynamo sounds of “Sour” and show her fans what she’s made of!

The “Good four u” singer recently commemorated the second anniversary of “Sour” on Instagram and hinted that she might be ready to party with her second album.

Rodrigo kicked off Memorial Day weekend with an Insta-post that doesn’t seem incredibly mysterious unless you look closely; fans seem to wonder whether she has tucked a little Easter egg into the photo related to her next album!

“Sour” was released this month, two years ago, a few months after “Driver’s License,” Rodrigo’s heartbreakingly relatable ballad about breaking up before having the chance to cruise around suburbia became a massive hit.

Interest in the song’s subject would soon take over social media after rumors spread that Joshua Bassett, Rodrigo’s ex and “High School Musical: The Musical- The Series,” had also been cozy with Sabrina Carpenter.

The LP caught listeners’ attention for many reasons besides the alleged love triangle; “Sour” was nominated for seven Grammy Awards and took home three statues!

Rodrigo also holds the album’s legacy close to her heart; she posted several snaps on Instagram to honor the record’s second birthday, including behind-the-scenes clips and a shot of the “brutal” singer celebrating!

She wrote, “Oh man. Oh, man. Oh, man. SOUR turns two years old today. No words can ever describe how much this album means to me and how grateful I am for every blessing it has brought. The new stuff is so so so so so close to being done, I pinky promise ?”

Rodrigo’s followers were eager to party and hear the new sounds she’s been working on.

“Happy two years, sour!!!!!!! We love you ??,” lives hq, the official Rodrigo Instagram account, commented.

“2 years and still NO ALBUM quit playing with us ??,” a follower wrote.

“2 years later, and it’s still brutal out here fr,” a fan lamented.

The official Instagram account Facebook commented, “So so so so so ready.”

“YALL THE CALENDAR?!?” a fan exclaimed.

“OR2 WHEN,” a fan asked.

“The calendar… June 30th… yup, new music is coming,” a follower guessed.

Rodrigo’s sophomore album has been long-awaited, even by the pop star. In February last year, she sat down with Billboard to share her thoughts about her second album.

“I have a title for my next album and a few songs,” she told the publication via The Blast’s report. “It’s fascinating to think about the next world that’s coming up for me. I love writing songs. I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I want to explore and have fun right now,” she explained.

Rodrigo also explained why she thought a deluxe edition of the album featuring additional tracks felt unnecessary.

“I chose not to make any bonus tracks or special editions because ‘Sour’ felt like such a distinct era in my life, and I wanted to give the songs room to breathe. And yeah, I’m excited to create a new era of my music. I like how the album existed as a body of work,” Rodrigo concluded.

Could Olivia Rodrigo have a perfect summer soundtrack up her sleeve? If fans’ predictions are correct, she may drop some new music on June 30th!
