Amanda Kloots Marks Late Husband’s Mom’s 72nd Posthumous Birthday

Amanda Kloots has celebrated the latest posthumous birthday of her late mother-in-law, Lesley Cordero.

The fitness instructor ensured she poured out her heart when she honored Lesley on what would have been her 72nd birthday over the weekend. The bittersweet moment comes nearly six months after she announced that the matriarch had passed away and almost a year after her son and Kloots’ husband died from COVID-19-related complications.

Amanda Kloots Lauded Her Late Mom-In-Law As An ‘Incredible Mother & Friend’ In Posthumous Birthday Tribute

Although Lesley’s death shocked Kloots, whose friendship with the older woman had helped her deal with her husband, Nick Cordero’s death, she has marked the former’s 72nd posthumous birthday. Taking to her Instagram Story, the “Fit for Christmas” actress posted an image of her and Lesley beaming at the camera as they posed on the set of “The Talk.”

The white-haired matriarch donned a long black dress and a floral jacket, while her daughter-in-law wore a short floral number, highlighting her long, toned legs. Across the sweet pic, the Broadway member wrote:

“Happy heavenly Birthday mom @lesleycorderofineart would have been 72 years old today. Lesley was the most incredible mother and friend. She is quite possibly the strongest woman I’ve ever met, facing the challenges in life with more resilience and love than one could ever expect.”

Kloots rounded up with an admission that she, her son Elvis Eduardo, and others who knew the beloved mother-in-law missed her every day. As mentioned above, the dancer’s old wounds had been reopened earlier this year when she had to deal with Lesley’s passing.

Per The Blast, the mother-of-one had taken to Instagram to drop photos featuring her late husband’s mom holding Elvis, enjoying dates with her loved ones, and even twinning with Nick during a day date. The snaps came with a lengthy caption that the heartbroken actress began with:

“My heart is broken to [sic] today. Nick’s mother, my mother-in-law, Lesley Cordero, has passed away. Lesley and I got very close when Nick got sick. We were soldiers going to battle every day, fighting for the man we loved.”

After praising Lesley as a “powerhouse, a woman of great strength and great advice,” the “Good Vibrations” star acknowledged that the fine artist was a “huge help” to her “as a fellow widow, understanding how to navigate this new life.”

The 41-year-old then touched on Lesley’s “very close” relationship with her late son, mentioning that the duo talked to each other “pretty much every day.” “This one is hard for me. I don’t know how to make sense of it, there actually isn’t a way. It is not fair. This is when I absolutely hate death, loss and grief,” Kloots continued.

The “Bullets Over Broadway” star then added that her heart went “out to the Cordero family, literally the strongest family I know,” concluding, “I will miss you tremendously. Thank you for loving me, taking me in as your daughter. Thank you for loving Elvis and being the best grandma. Rest in peace mom. I’ll love you forever.”

The Television Personality Taught Critics A Lesson On Dealing With Grief

In January, The Blast reported that soon after she shared the sad news of Lesley’s passing, Kloots returned with a lesson for critics who expected her to be curled up in bed mourning.

As it turned out, one person had sent a message to her Instagram DMs claiming that the “The Talk” co-host was “not grieving to their standards.” In response, the blond beauty shared a clip of her attending a dance class by Ryan Heffington, penning in the caption:

“A very powerful thing I’ve learned through grief is what I need to do for myself to release the pain- what helps me to process the trauma so it doesn’t stay stuck. One thing I do is workout and the other @dancingwiththestars really helped me realize, dance. Dancing every day during that show released stored pain that I didn’t even know I still had in my body.”

She also explained that the class helped her release the pain, shock, trauma, and PTSD from the loss, even though she had to dance in front of strangers. Ultimately, Kloots wanted others like her to find the right path to help them heal from the hurt of losing their loved ones without worrying about what onlookers thought was the right way to grieve.
