The Simpsons fans were convinced the seminal cartoon has "done it again" and predicted a missing sub running out of oxygen during an underwater tour.

A multinational search has gone into their fourth day of rescue, seeking a Titanic tourist submersible with five people on board, including company boss Stockton Rush.

The minivan-sized "Titan" sub has 96 hours of emergency oxygen and is believed to have only a few hours of breathable air left.

The 2016 episode showed Homer Simpson reuniting with his long lost dad, Mason, and they went on a "treasure excursion" underwater.

He followed the fish and got trapped in a coral cave.

Desperately trying to manoeuvre its way out, the control panel flashed a warning sign of "oxygen low".

Homer got panicked when the sign changed to a red sign of "oxygen gone".

He lost consciousness in the sub but luckily he was found and woke up from a coma three days later in a hospital.
