Woman disturbed as Etihad worker sends ‘unbelievably creepy message at airport’

A woman has been left furious after an airline employee allegedly sent her a creepy message.

The woman, known as Hannah, claims he used her "personal data" to track down her details and slide into her DMs.

She posted about the experience on Twitter to show how easily these things can happen.

Explaining what happened in a social media post, Hannah wrote: "A guy who works for the @etihad airline used my personal data which he found via the airline database after seeing my passport to get my phone number and proceeded to text me.

"Terrifying experience travelling alone."

To make things all the more creepy, he seems to confirm it in the messages he sent her.

    Since she shared the post it's been liked over 7,000 times – and it's got a lot of people talking too.

    One person replied: "This is so unbelievably creepy. Hope you’re not left feeling too rattled while you’re travelling."

    Another added: "This happened to me when I bought a brand new car from a know brand garage.

    "I was much younger and naïve so just blocked him! If it happened now, I’d take it so much further.

    "Hope you’re okay, no matter what people say, it’s still scary when you’re alone."

    A third person pointed out airline employees can sometimes call you, adding: "Airlines do call your mobile when you’re late for a flight or it’s boarding early by the way. I’ve had this before.

    "It was surprising but ultimately prevented me missing the flight."

    When asked about the matter, an Etihad spokesperson said: "Our team have been in contact with the guest and Etihad initiated a full investigation as soon as it was made aware of inappropriate conduct by an employee of a third-party contractor.

    "As a result of the investigation, the relevant employee involved has been disciplined in accordance with the contractor’s disciplinary procedures.

    "The privacy and safety of our guests is our number one priority and we sincerely apologise for the distress caused to our guest."
