Entitled mum screams at passenger after trying to steal their plane seat

A holidaymaker was shocked when a mum on her flight tried to steal her window seat which she had specifically booked due to "claustrophobia" – and then proceeded to scream at her for asking to take it back.

The poster shared the story on Reddit after she claims things took a dramatic turn when she confronted the mother, who had given the seat to her child. The situation is one many of us would dread given that most people have a preferred seat.

The woman claims that when she boarded the flight she was confused when she noticed "a lady and her child" sitting in her row.

She explained: "The lady is in the middle and the child (maybe three or four?) is in my seat. I didn't board late – I was one of the early groups, so she just preemptively took the window. You have to pay extra for that.

"I walked up and very politely tell her it was my seat. I never, not once, raised my voice or lost my temper."

In the comments of the post, people were baffled by the situation. Most were confused as to why she assumed she could take a seat she wasn’t assigned.

One wrote: "They're hoping that you'll 'ThInK oF tHe ChIlDrEn' and just give up your window seat so that the little darling can be entertained by something other than mum. Good for you for sticking up for yourself. If more of us did this, perhaps those people would stop being so entitled."

"She should have been booted off the plane", another fumed. "I'm a mum too, and I would never have thought of demanding my kid's preferred seat,” a mum noted.
