The Edmonton Oilers equaled up their first-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series with the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday, winning a wild Game 4 in overtime by a 4-3 final.

Oilers’ forward Zach Hyman played hero, scoring 10:38 into the extra session to help Edmonton avoid falling into a 3-1 series hole.

Fielding a crisp outlet pass from Eric Bouchard, Hyman flew into the L.A. zone before ripping a wrister past netminder Joonas Korpisalo.

The Kings broke the game open early, taking a 3-0 advantage in the first period off goals from Anze Kopitar, Viktor Arvidsson and Gabriel Vilardi. However, the Oilers would bounce back, tying the game 3-3 thanks to a goal from Bouchard and two tallies from Leon Draisaitl.

Draisaitl, who assisted on Bouchard’s goal, recorded his 14th career three-point postseason game, which is the most in NHL history — ahead of Hall of Famers Wayne Gretzky (12) and Mario Lemieux (10), per ESPN Stats and Info.

The Kings and Oilers weren’t tied for long, as Marcus Roy scored 4:28 into the third period, again giving the Kings the lead.

With time winding down, Evander Kane brought the Oilers back to life, tying the game with an unassisted goal at 16:58 of the third and setting the stage for Hyman’s heroics.

The series, now tied at two games apiece, heads to Edmonton for Game 5 on Tuesday.
