Smith gave a little update to her social media followers on how she’s feeling and recovering at home.

Her update video on Instagram is captioned, “Nothing new here to share. Still on the mend still on bedrest but at least I put a sexy cover photo to trick you all into watching this video. Lol.” See video HERE.

“Hopefully one day soon, I’ll be making a post and I won’t be in my pajamas, I won’t be laying on my sofa,” she began. “But for now, I’m still healing, and today for some reason, I’m in a great deal of pain. I have a headache and my back is just killing me, but I’m getting there. I miss the old me.”

Amanza Smith Was Hospitalized For More Than A Month For A Blood Infection

The reality star and luxury realtor went into the hospital in early June. She explained what was going on in an Instagram post caption.

“Over a month ago and all of this started I thought that I had a bulging disk or a slipped disc or something wrong with my lower back that was regular. I laid in pain in my house for several days. I cried. I took Tylenol. I went to urgent care. I didn’t know what it was but after over a month of excruciating pain I finally started to get some answers. I got an MRI and a CT scan and then was told that I need to go to Cedar Sinai. I came to Cedar Sinai last Friday thinking that I was going to get another scan on my back and then go home. Instead, I was admitted and they immediately started testing me for things in my blood,” she wrote in her caption.

She continued to explain that a lot of the infection spread to the bones in her spine, called osteomyelitis, and she was on IV antibiotics but was going to need surgery.

“Here I am day 10 and I’m making this message a bit quickly because I’m about to go into surgery to have portions of the infection removed from my spine that weren’t getting any better by the antibiotics that I’ve been getting for 10 days now every four hours intravenously.”

A few days later, another update revealed a second surgery was necessary.

“I’ll be going in for my second surgery in the next few hours. Part of my spine has completely deteriorated due to the infection and I’ll be getting a new vertebrae and a couple of screws and rods in my spine to replace what has been eaten away from the bacteria,” she wrote.

“This is my short caption version of the entire explanation but it’s enough to let you all know the gist of it all. I am in good spirits and positive that I will come out 💯 percent after healing ❤️‍🩹 in 3/4 months.”

Her second surgery went well but has a longer recovery period, and that’s where she’s currently at in her journey to getting back to her normal, pain-free self.

Throughout her health scare, Smith has managed to stay positive and help others to also look to the upside of things with her motivational thoughts.

“I heard this, and I thought it was amazing! Sometimes when you’re in a dark place you think you’ve been buried but actually you’ve been planted! If you’re in a dark place, or you’re feeling low, it’s only up from there, so push through and the beautiful flower of abundance and health and goodness on the other side, it’s going to be so worth it! Just keep going,” she wrote in a caption of an Instagram video.
