Tom Cruise has always been a committed actor, going so far as to perform his own dangerous stunts in action blockbusters like the Mission Impossible franchise and Top Gun: Maverick.

Paramount PicturesBut as it turns out, Tom went the extra mile and was actually handcuffed while filming the car chase scene — which sees him drifting, reversing and performing some epic stuntwork.
Paramount PicturesIn an interview with BuzzFeed Australia, Tom confirmed that it was Hayley’s first car chase scene, but he had put in a number of hours of training to ensure that the stunt was pulled off both safely and successfully.

He also said that he loved “the character dynamic” that both he and Hayley created during the chaos of this scene — and as someone that has already seen Dead Recoking: Part One, I can confirm they’re both hilarious and fantastic together.
