In her latest Instagram update, the Oak Park native reshared a recently posted TikTok video. The clip, titled “Just a few words about #Madonna,” captured the comedian’s take on the mean-spirited reactions to the songstress’s ailment.

Filming herself at home in what appeared to be her pajamas, the Primetime Emmy Award winner explained that she wished to support the “Material Girl” hitmaker despite having no relationship with the 64-year-old.

“I don’t know what’s going on with Madonna, I don’t know, but I love her and want to defend her,” the comedian began. “I have never met her. Of course, I’ve seen her in concert because I am a gay man, and I think she has provided the world with decades of music and entertainment.”

The ginger-haired entertainer stated she was displeased with the inappropriate comments about the cultural icon, noting people dismissed her condition as a joke. The 62-year-old said: “I don’t like how people are like already piling on and making fun of her being quite ill or collapsed, and she’ll be fine. We don’t know anything yet.”

Putting herself in the “4 Minutes” singer’s shoes, the Oak Park native claimed the hate against Madonna sprang from people’s opinions about her age and gender, a treatment she was familiar with. In the GLAAD Media Award honoree’s words:

“I’m going to be honest; I think a lot of it is ageism and misogyny. Sorry, but you know, as a 62-year-old chick, I deal with it all the time, and she’s freaking Madonna!”

Addressing comments about the “Hung Up” artist’s beauty enhancements, Griffin noted that the people’s focus should be on the blonde beauty’s recovery. The comedian chimed, “So I don’t care about her fillers; they’re going to go away if she feels like it. I care about her health.”

Her oldest daughter Lourdes Leon was reportedly beside the entertainer throughout her health scare. As for what went wrong, the media personality’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, explained in a social media post.

Taking to his Instagram page on Wednesday, Madonna’s representative revealed the “Papa Don’t Preach” artist had “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several days stay in the ICU.”

Although a source claimed the Wembley Square of Fame inductee was “out of the ICU,” Oseary stated in his post that “she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

The incident occurred months after Madonna announced her plans for a “Celebration” tour in honor of the 40th anniversary of her music career. The show was anticipated to start on July 15, but the singer’s manager confirmed it had been postponed.
