Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor hasn’t fought since July 2021.

That night, he suffered what many believed to be a career-ending broken leg during his TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Since then, the 34-year-old Irishman has been working his way back to the cage — a process that will be chronicled in the new Netflix documentary “McGregor Forever,” which debuts on May 17.

“I thought [my career] was over as well, that’s why I flipped into a different mode,” McGregor said in the trailer for the four-part series. “It was the adrenaline as well and I know I would have came down but part of me was thinking, Jesus, imagine it was taken from me like that, I would be a different person and it was a bit scary, to be honest with you.”

Each of the four episodes are one-hour long and features behind-the-scenes footage of McGregor in the hospital post-surgery as well as his rehabilitation process.

Following his boxing super-fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2017, McGregor had a documentary in the works to showcase his career with cameras following him around starting in 2018.

McGregor is coaching opposite Michael Chandler on “The Ultimate Fighter 31.” The two will fight at the conclusion of the show’s season on a yet-to-be-announced fight card. The show began filming in February, and it’s expected to debut on television at the end of May.
