Argentine teen sensation ‘heads list of Harry Kane replacements’ for Tottenham
Tottenham could be on the verge of selling Harry Kane this summer, and a surprise target tops the north Londoners' short list of potential replacements.
Bayern Munich continue to be linked with a move for England captain Kane, who has now entered the final 12 months of his contract. It's understood the German juggernaut's latest offer for the player – who appears intent on not signing a new deal with Spurs – was worth £81.7million, but an improved bid is expected in the coming days.
Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be in the race for one of the most sought-after talents in the Premier League. The Ligue 1 champions recently lost Lionel Messi, while fellow World Cup-winner Kylian Mbappe is also thought to be flirting with a possible exit.
In the event Kane does leave Tottenham this summer, manager Ange Postecoglou has reportedly identified Argentina Under-20 international Alejo Veliz as his replacement. And the Rosario Central frontman is already in talks with Spurs over a potential move.

Furthermore, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has gone so far as to suggest a deal for the player – expected to cost around £12m – has already been agreed. According to Romano, Veliz 'wants to join', though Rosario Central are requesting to keep the forward on loan for six months.
But Postecoglou may not be in a position to acquiesce in the event Kane leaves north London. The 30-year-old – who has scored 280 goals in 436 outings for Tottenham – is easily the most valuable figure at the manager's disposal and would represent a shattering loss if the club did agree to sell.

The Daily Mail highlighted Spurs have Premier League competition for Veliz, with Nottingham Forest also reportedly interested in his signature. Big things are expected of the teenager after picking up his form in front of goal this season.
Veliz also caught the eye representing Argentina at the Under-20 World Cup earlier this summer, where he scored in each of his country's group fixtures before failing to hit the target in a round-of-16 exit to Nigeria.
Tottenham fans may prefer to see funds spent on a more ready-made replacement to lead their line if Kane were to leave the club. However, Postecoglou is seemingly inclined to play the long game by investing in a star for the future.
