At the London premiere of Barbie, Margot showed her support for the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, saying that, “I very much am in support of all the unions and I’m a part of SAG, so I would absolutely stand by them.”

Margot has a long history of championing her fellow performers, as seen in this resurfaced video from her Neighbours era (which is where all Aussie actors get their start, in case you didn’t know) going viral.

In it, Margot explains that she’s a union member belonging to Actors’ Equity, which is part of the MEAA (Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance).

She also encourages others working in the media and entertainment industry to be part of a union, highlighting how important they are when it comes to technical things like pay slips, overtime, entitlements and ensuring that you get what you are deserved.

Being the humble queen that she is, Margot also talks about working in Subway prior to getting her big break on Neighbours.

Honestly, I already loved Margot Robbie, but the fact that she’s always been part of a union and supported actors’ rights makes me respect her even more.
