Sir Elton John appeared surprisedly in court during Kevin Spacey’s ongoing sexual assault trial.

New reports have divulged that the beloved British singer and composer confirmed that the “House of Cards” alum attended a charity ball he hosted and stayed overnight in his house.

Even though he has denied all charges against him, including the sexual assault and indecent assault against four men between 2001 and 2013, Spacey’s jury trial began on June 28, 2023, and is expected to last four weeks.

Elton John was asked to answer questions regarding one of Spacey’s alleged victims that asserted that he was driving the “American Beauty” star to a charity ball hosted by the “Tiny Dancer” singer and his husband, David Furnish, when he forcefully grabbed his penis, almost crashing them.

Starting the 20-minute session, the judge asked the pianist if he could “see and hear” the court, to which he responded, “Not really.” Once the volume problem was sorted, the “Rocket Man” singer affirmed that he did not recognize the complainant’s image and did not recall meeting him during the 2001 event that raised funds for the Elton John Aids Foundation. He told the jurors:

“When I come out of the theatre, it’s always a mad rush to get into the car. Anyone who is on my periphery, I wouldn’t notice them. It could be the Queen, and I wouldn’t notice her.”

When questioned if he remembered seeing 63-year-old Spacey at the stage show, the 76-year-old answered in the affirmative, stating, “He arrived in white tie. He was on a private jet and came straight to the ball.”

When further cross-examined by the prosecutor, Christine Agnew KC, to ascertain if the “Baby Driver” superstar arrived by private jet, the music composer quipped, “I would assume so, yes, I don’t think he would be wearing a white tie on a commercial flight.”

Although Elton John, who gave his name as “Elton Hercules John,” struggled to hear the questions over the video link and had a lawyer in the office space with him repeat them, it was clear that his buddy spent the night in his home after the ball. “On the night he attended the ball, he stayed overnight at our house,” the Kennedy Center Honors recipient verified.

Additionally, he recounted how the “A Bug’s Life” screen star purchased a red Mini at a charity auction during the ball; however, he could not fathom what happened to the car.

Elton John’s husband also provided evidence that he remembered the alleged victim and described him as “affable, charming, and easy-going.” Later, Spacey was seen weeping as his legal rep, Patrick Gibbs KC, read out character statements from family, friends, and fellow Hollywood stars.

Taking the stage during the second day of the trial, Spacey argued that the allegations against him were false and motivated by money. As The Blast reported last week, the Screen Actors Guild Awards winner stated that his accuser had “made up his entire story from beginning to end,” tagging the prosecution’s case as “weak.”

The BAFTA Awards recipient firmly said, “I do not accept a single word that comes out of his mouth.” When Agnew queried the complainant’s reason for lying, Spacey responded, “Money, money, and then money. And I also believe he has, for whatever reason, anger towards me.”

“I mean, maybe I wasn’t as lovely to him as he would have hoped if we met that day, and maybe he was upset about other things concerning my sexuality,” Spacey further clarified.

When asked if unceremoniously grabbing a man’s crotch was something he would “normally do to someone you had met for the first time,” the actor responded negatively. He also denied it when queried about it being something he had successfully done before this considering it a “trademark.”

After that, Spacey informed jurors he is an “affectionate person” and agreed that he might hug someone after making a “first move.” When additionally asked what he considered “appropriate,” he explained:

“Every encounter that we have as humans, that I have had, is unique. The circumstance is unique, the person is unique, and how we have interacted is unique. I can’t give you a sort of rundown of what always happens; it’s always different.”
