Kevin Costner’s Ex-Wife Says His Behavior In Divorce Shows ‘Lack Of Maturity’

Kevin Costner’s ex-wife is going after the legendary actor, saying his behavior during their divorce shows a “lack of maturity.”

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Christine Costner is continuing to battle the ‘Yellowstone’ star over monthly support payments for her and their children. In the filing, Christine claims Kevin has offered $51,000 in monthly support, which she says is still way below the standard, based on his huge income.

Shockingly, Christine says Kevin’s net worth is north of $215,000,000. Of course, he is one of the most famous actors of all time — but that is a huge amount.

In California, child support is based off of the parent’s monthly income to a certain degree. But, if you are an extremely high-earner (like Kevin Costner) the numbers can get a bit tricky. “I cannot provide housing and care for the children at anything close to their accustomed lifestyle with the $51,000/mo. Kevin proposes to pay in child support,” Christine said. She adds, “This is an entirely inadequate amount to support three teenage children, whose father claims he has a net worth of $215,000,000.”

As we’ve reported, this divorce has turned nasty.

During the breakup, Christine claims Kevin canceled a trip to see his children at the former couple’s home, simply because he wasn’t assured by his ex-wife that he would get the “primary bedroom.”

She writes, “There is simply no reason to have any confrontation about the primary bedroom. We had an extremely peaceful interaction during his last trip home in May, and during that visit, I gave Kevin the bedroom.”

Adding, “Kevin’s conduct on this issue reflects a lack of maturity and willingness to amicably cooperate as co-parents.”

Kevin Costner’s Wife Says He Won’t Support His Kids In The Proper Way

“Kevin disingenuously asserts that he is “doing the most [he] can reasonably do to make a divorce as seamless as possible for our children.” His actions show precisely the opposite, as he has sought to evict his wife and children from their home, and he now offers to pay child support of $51,940 per month,” she continued.

At this point, the argument is centered on the fact that Christine is asking Kevin to cover a rental property near the family compound in Santa Barbara, California. The area is one of the most expensive in the state, and she is not satisfied with the current offer he is making for support. Specifically, he has offered a home rental budget of $18,826 per month — which she claims “is simply not realistic in the Santa Barbara housing market if the children are to live in a home that is anything close” to their current beachside home.

Adding, “The children also have two dogs, which limit my rental options. Rentals that do allow pets often charge a higher rent or require an additional security deposit.”

Put simply, Christine’s legal team writes, “Although Kevin has vast wealth and extraordinary income, he apparently expects his children to live far below his economic circumstances when they are with their mother. Children should share in the standard of living of both parents. Child support may therefore appropriately improve the standard of living of the custodial household to improve the lives of the children.”

Kevin Costner’s Ex-Wife Is Asking For Almost $250,000 In Monthly Support

In the filing, Christine outlines several financial expenses that she believes Kevin isn’t taking into consideration. One is the food! According to Mrs. Costner, the family relies “on caterers and chefs (beyond our regular cook) when we have large gatherings of the kids’ friends and their families, or our families, and the children are accustomed to having these gatherings frequently.”

Plus, when the family takes vacations, they “generally rent vacation homes which cost between $45,000-$120,000 per week. We rent cars, hire chefs and purchase beach and pool equipment to use at the house.”

As you know, she is asking for a whopping $217,300 a month in support.

Although the former couple was married for over 20 years, Kevin claims Christine signed a prenuptial agreement. The contract reportedly says Christine basically gets nothing and must move out of the family home right away.

Now, the decision will be up to a judge.

Oh ya, one more thing. For all you ‘Yellowstone’ fans out there…

Christine claims Kevin Costner “could have continued with the show” but chose not to in order to pursue a more profitable project?!

Now, that’s upsetting.
